Life Lessons 3 Important Life Lessons I Learned From Changing Careers 6:56 PM I'm a licensed pharmacist. Why did I become one? Because my mother wanted me to. 😂 It's not even on top of the things I was choosing when I was about to go to college. From working in a hospital to the corporate world to chasing my own dreams, I've grown. There are 3 important life lessons I learned from changing careers and it's a surprisingly fun discovery. Lessons Learned From Changing Careers I wanted to take up Psychology, Dentistry or Business Administration. But I suck at Math. So goodbye business degree. My grandma told me a terrible story about a dentistry student so I was discouraged from becoming a dentist. And I don't know what I'd do after Psych. Plus---and most importantly, my mother was always persistent (a more subtle way of saying pushy😂) in what she wants for me. I have no regrets. I've learned to like Pharmacy and all the branches of Chemistry that came with it. Even though my grades disagree. I've met friends and got to experience unforgettable things in college. BUT my first love is writing. Even when I didn't realize it then yet. Even when I would have grammar slips from time to time. I like to tell stories through the written word. 1. You always make time for what you love To please my parents or more like to stop them from giving me guilt trips, I followed a career in Pharmacy for five years or so. It was okay but although I got paid alright, I wasn't happy. Obviously that's what happens when you do something you don't like just to please others. Even if it's family or parents you're trying to please. The Bible says honor your mother and father. It didn't say you let them control your life. What pushed me to leave my career even more (as if I needed more reasons) is the toxic environment. I was appalled that in the so-called "professional" world, people could still be so rude, immature and ironically, unprofessional. Everyone seemed entitled. I was adamant that I should not end up like that and when I felt like I was turning into one of them, it scared me. I was working more like an admin/secretary anyway. I never got to apply what I excruciatingly studied in the university. Even during this time though, I would always find time to write. I write online on platforms like Friendster and Multiply or scribble on a piece of paper because this was before I discovered blogging. I've realized that in career as in everything else in life, you will always find the time to do what you love. There are no excuses. There are no delays. If you want to do it, you will and you will find the time. 2. Prioritize yourself Shortly after my Pharmacy practice, I found myself in the corporate world. It was totally unplanned. I was hired within the day. I was happy! Compared to being a pharmacist, this was exciting. I was exposed to online tools and technologies I wasn't familiar with. I was working in a much cleaner, more modern, cooler office and diverse culture. I was suddenly a city girl enjoying my new-found freedom and discovering and rediscovering what I really want. I was able to think about myself first. And you know what? It's okay to love yourself first. Self-love is healthy. You can't give something you don't have. You have to fill your tank first before you can pour it out. Finally, after ten years of working, I was able to take a real vacation. So this is how it feels to be enjoying the fruits of my labor? It was exhilarating. I got to reset and sort out my priorities. But I don't need to do a self-reflection to know that writing is still what I really want. 3. Keep working There will always be hardship. There will always be obstacles as you work towards your dreams. You should be worried if there's none. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. It is in the struggles that you learn to be strong. It is in the nothing that you realize what is superficial and what is essential. If you want something bad enough, keep working for it. Before I left the crazy corporate world, I would juggle one or two side jobs. I would be attending seminars which I know could help me in my pursuit of what I want, even if that would mean I would be forgoing sleep. Some friends would ask me to teach them too, but when I tell them what they need to do and sacrifice, they get discouraged. They'd rather sleep in or spend their extra money on their vices rather than invest on what they know is good for them. I'm not saying you should stop having fun and overwork. Enjoy but keep working on your dreams. Even if it's just taking three minutes of your time watching a video tutorial. Or listening to speakers who can motivate you. Or reading short inspiring stories that can help you realize or remember your goals. As Steve Jobs said, keep learning. Especially now that we have different resources available online, there's no excuse not to learn anything. My changing careers didn't make my parents happy at first. But that doesn't make me a bad daughter. I want to believe that it made me a better person. I still encounter difficulties and problems with what I do but again if you really love what you do, you find a way to fix it. You don't find an excuse to walk away. Have you changed career? Tell me about it in the comment! If you like this blog post about life and love, please share the article using the social media buttons below or on the left. Thanks!
Faith 7 Lessons I Learned From Ruth While Waiting For My Boaz 8:18 PM So here's the thing about Ruth and why she's a big deal---at least for single women. She's the perfect inspiration for those who are: feeling inadequate feeling flawed scrutinized and marginalized by the cruel society feeling that they've ran out of luck when it comes to finding "The One" tired of doing good and not seeing any good happen to them In short, Ruth is not your ideal woman. People looked down on her because: She was a Moabite. Moabites were descendants of Lot from an incestuous relationship with his oldest daughter. She's a woman, and women during her time were considered property whose value is only a little higher than cows in their society. She's a widow. Some people during her time thinks widows are cursed. Giphy Despite her personal obstacles and the labels people give her, she remained faithful to her mother-in-law Naomi and did what she could to help her. Brushing aside the whispers about her, she went out to glean the barley fields of her late husband's kin, Boaz. That's a quick summary so you may want to read her story to know more. But here's what I got from Ruth. 7 Lessons I Learned From Ruth While Waiting For My Boaz 1. Ruth’s priority was a life of service. Ruth didn’t wait for someone to redeem her after her husband died. She went out there and worked---for her and for her mother-in-law. The only family she has. She could have left her but she didn't. She served her. She knew her priorities. Don’t wait for other people—especially for men to validate your existence or rescue you from where you are. In the end, you're the only one who can save you. Don't be a damsel in distress. Be your own hero. 2. Loyalty and selflessness are always rewarded. She cared for Naomi and never left her side which eventually led her to her future husband Boaz. Even when you don't expect it, your goodness will be rewarded. That's how the universe works. 3. Be confident with who you are. Ruth never let rumors and gossip stop her from going out there and getting what she needed. She ignored the naysayers. She knew she was being judged because she didn’t fit in the society’s standards. She had more important things to think about; she had no time for petty things and petty people. If you know who you truly are, no amount of rumor will make you question your identity. Your reputation is in the hands of others. That's what the reputation is. You can't control that. The only thing you can control is your character. -Dr. Wayne Dyer 4. Be diligent, persevering, and determined. Ruth worked harder than others, which Boaz noticed. Your work ethics, virtues and hard work will speak for itself. Though some people don't appreciate your effort and your goodness, someone will---someone who matters. 5. Be a woman of character. Boaz told Ruth: “All my fellow townsmen know that you are a worthy woman.” What can be more flattering than that? You can’t control your reputation, because everyone's entitled to their own opinion. But remember: not everybody matters. You can’t control other people’s impression of you. Don’t even waste your time trying. However, you do have full and total control of your own character. Be someone your Boaz can be proud of. Be someone you yourself, your children and your children's children can be proud of. Carry yourself with dignity. 6. Stop chasing people. Don’t be desperate. Boaz praised Ruth’s loyalty saying, “You have not gone after a younger man, whether rich or poor.” Never run after a bus, train or man. When one leaves, another arrives. 7. Follow the advice of the wise. Ruth knew she could trust Naomi so she followed her advice. Which turned out to be an effective one because Boaz married her after that. Ruth may not be every guy's fantasy girl, but she’s every man’s ideal wife, judging by her character. People might have treated her like trash, but her character shined so brightly that a man of integrity like Boaz saw what a gem she was. Don’t just sit and wait around for your Boaz. Ruth never did. She lived a life of service and the Lord rewarded her. For God is faithful, and His timing is perfect. Be like Ruth while waiting for your Boaz. Work while you wait and wait in faith. ---- Lessons from The Feast's teachings on Women. Edited from the article I submitted on The Praying Woman.
Health & Wellness Tips For Living A Long And Healthy Life 7:00 AM In order to live a long and healthy life, you need to take the appropriate steps that will allow you to achieve this. No matter who you ask, the chances are that people want to live by this mantra. So, the big question is – what can you do? The secret is simpler than you imagine, and it doesn’t require you to make ground-breaking changes to your life. For instance, how often do you make time for your friends and family? Your loved ones play an important role in your everyday life and happiness. Then, there’s also the matter of the habits you adopt to maintain your mental and physical health, doing what makes you happy and understanding the need to get professional and medical attention when it’s necessary. Tips for Living a Long and Healthy Life Making time for your friends and family Your family members are your loved ones and they are always there to care and support you. Still, friends are just as important as family, and both of these groups can make an impact in your life. When was the last time you spent some quality bonding time with the people that you care about? No matter how busy your life gets, you can always make time for your loved ones, and you will notice a big change to your mood once you surround yourself with these individuals. Daily health habits What are the types of habits that you currently abide by on a day to day basis? There are two that are particularly important for the sake of your overall health: Nutritious meals Eating healthy is important, and that means you must make a point of eating food that is rich in vitamins, minerals, protein, and is overall well-balanced, accounting for every food group. Working out Working out on a daily basis will further help you, and there are so many exercise routines you can choose from, you should never be at a loss over which to pursue. Whether you work out at home, in a gym, or doing an organized sport, there is bound to be one activity that fits your lifestyle. Do what makes you happy Your mental health is just as important as your physical, and you that is why you should make a point of doing what makes you happy in life. Whether this is hobby related, career or anything else for that matter, you should be able to look back on your youth in old age and not feel even the slightest tinge of regret. Getting professional help when needed The older you get, the more prone you will be to encounter certain health problems. However, this shouldn’t deter you from living your best life In this case, you must make a habit of visiting doctors and other medical professionals in order to get the help you need. If you don’t get a check-up, you may not even know that you have a health problem to begin with! Not everything will be apparent on the exterior. For instance, have you thought about testing your hormone levels? Hormonal imbalance can be common in both males and female alike. The good news, however, is that there is always a solution no matter the problem. For example, Ehormones MD offers Testosterone replacement therapy in Philadelphia. Depending on where you are located, there are always health care professionals within reach that are guaranteed to assist you. Adopting these habits and routines into your life shouldn’t feel like a chore. Rather, it’s something that should become second-nature, and done with the purpose of bettering your life. Who doesn’t want to feel well-rested? Do you know someone that doesn’t want to wake up feeling energized and ready to take on the day? All of this, and much more, can be the result of an easy lifestyle switch. Life Lessons How To Spring Clean Your Life In 2019 1:23 PM It is reaching that time of the year when we start thinking about the different ways we can improve our lives. Rather than focusing on New Year’s resolutions you know you will never stick to, you simply need to take a more proactive approach to improving your life, from self-improvement to decluttering your physical belongings. If you want to ensure next year is one to remember, learn how to spring clean your life in 2019. How to Spring Clean Your Life in 2019 Review Your Finances & Start Saving Do you have little money in the bank after many months of hard work? This indicates you’re not spending your money wisely. Provide yourself with more financial security in 2019 by reviewing your budget. For example, compare your outgoings against your income to identify where you are wasting your revenue. You also should open a savings account to develop a rainy-day fund so that you can enjoy some financial security throughout the year. Spruce Up Your Credit History Speaking of your finances, have you got a poor credit history? If so, this could be preventing you from securing a mortgage or car loan. However, it is possible to dispute a report to repair your credit. Crediful specialize in helping people take control of their finances, so you should read their review on a popular credit repair company, which could help you to receive the keys to your own property or car in 2019. Alter Your Attitude A negative attitude can affect your daily life. Give yourself a fresh start by developing a more positive mindset. Whenever you have a pessimistic thought, counteract it with a positive affirmation. It might also be helpful to undertake cognitive behavioural therapy to effectively manage your emotions and problems, as it can change the way you both think and behave. Remove Physical Clutter Clear your mind by clearing your home of physical clutter. Take the time to remove items that are simply collecting dust in your home. This means finally tackling your junk drawer, pulling unwanted items out of an attic, or purging your rooms of items that are taking up unnecessary floor space in the home. It will help you to create a light, airy and bigger home. Automate Your Bills Take a little stress out of your life by automating your bills, as you’ll simply need to make sure there is enough money in an account to cover your outgoings each month. You also can streamline your payments by ensuring your bills leave the same account to make it easier to track your payments. Get Real About Your Career As your career will take up a large majority of your time, it needs to make you happy. Ask yourself if you’re in the right job or if there is something both bigger and better waiting for you. Maybe you are settling as you’re too afraid to step outside your comfort zone. If so, there is no time like the present to take your career into your own hands, so change jobs, expand on your qualifications, or identify the different ways you can climb the corporate ladder. Start Clearing Your Debts If you want to live a happier, more peaceful life, embrace a debt-free lifestyle. Similar to decluttering your home, getting rid of your debts can make you feel much happier. Aim to pay off your credit cards or make bigger loan repayments so that you will free up your finances in the future. You can then focus on spending the money on home improvement tasks, a dream vacation or a large nest egg. Say Goodbye to Toxic Friends While it might not be easy to say goodbye to friends you’ve known for many years, you need to remove them from your life if they pull you down instead of building you up. While you might feel connected to them due to the length of time you’ve known them, or the journey you have gone on together, you cannot keep them in your life simply for nostalgia. If someone treats you badly or damages your confidence, they’re not your friend. Make a To-Do List Do you struggle with organization? Do you constantly miss deadlines or fail to identify your priorities? If so, consider making to-do lists so that you can perform every essential task on schedule. Whether you’re juggling multiple tasks at work or want to complete projects within the home, make a list that will break down the tasks by priority, day or concern, which can simplify your life. Holiday How To Save Money During The Holidays 6:52 PM I remember when I was a kid, I was excited around this time. Yes, the Yuletide season is near! It's when people get together...and apparently spend more than they should. I enjoyed Christmas more when I became an adult because I'm able to buy gifts now for people I value. But then, gift-giving could cause a problem to your budget if you're not careful. Here's what I learned about how to save money during the holidays. How To Save Money During The Holidays Make a list and check it twice Do what the big guy in red does (according to that famous song). Make a list and check it twice. Not necessarily to find out who's naughty or nice though but to see how much you're going to spend on presents. When you make a list, write the name of the recipient on one column, the gift options you're getting them on another, and the price. You can check online to see how much each item costs or if you have enough time, check at the stores or malls and compare. I write at least three gift options that I could give a person. Writing down the prices and seeing which one is more practical to give helps me decide fast. Start early Last Christmas I started shopping for gifts as early as October. I think earlier than that is even better. Because when -ber months start, prices usually go up. It helped also because stores are not as busy yet as December. There's no Christmas rush so paying at the counter is quick as there's no long line. Plus you're able to scout for more gift options when you know you're not in a hurry. If you can, shop early to avoid the Christmas rush. If you are in a hurry, chances are you would not be able to think clearly and end up spending more than you plan. Recycle gifts I know, I used to shudder at the idea of recycling gifts. Isn't that an insult to the giver? And isn't that too embarrassing to do? Well, no and no. It is more insulting if you don't use the gift and just let it accumulate dust. Or worse, throw it away. It is not embarrassing if you give the gift to someone not connected to the giver. When my friend gave me a coin purse during my birthday, I was grateful. It was thoughtful of her and it was a dainty coin purse. But after a year, I still was not using it. Because I've got other coin purses which are also gifts. I like to use my stuff until it's all worn out and I can't use it anymore. I still have clothes and bags that I purchased five or ten years ago. I don't want to hoard things I don't use. So I gave my coin purse as a gift to my other friend who's not from the same circle. She loved it! Don't be afraid to recycle gifts. After all, it's been given to you so you can do what you want with it. Coupons or vouchers Make use of coupons, gift checks or vouchers. They're there to make your shopping life better. You can use them to buy gifts or give them as gifts. It is a practical and thoughtful present especially to those whom you can't decide what to give to because they seem to have everything they need. Or for moms who'd love to buy some groceries or items around the house instead. Shop online I am an online shopper because I like the convenience it brings. You save time and effort going outside to buy, and you see lots of options just sitting there on your chair, and the items get delivered at your doorsteps. You practically don't leave the house if you don't like and can still do your Christmas shopping (I'm an introvert). May I just say again (in case you missed my post about it) that I now have my own online dealer store? What I like about the company Human Nature is that they carry only organic and natural, cruelty-free and sustainable products that are globally competitive when it comes to quality but is much cheaper compare to other brands. I started as a buyer then became a fan and now I can sell their products online. So when you buy gifts from my Human Nature Lucky Shop, you give gifts that actually give back to the community and the world in general. How awesome can that be? Volunteer Give your time, talent and treasure to those who can't pay you back. (But when you host a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind, and you will be blessed. Since they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous. -Luke 14:13-14) Christmas is the season of giving and giving is very rewarding. It is life-changing. It is like emptying your hand so you're ready to receive more blessings. Whatever happens, know that God can never be outdone in generosity.Your turn Are you excited for the holidays? Remember that you can enjoy without overspending. Do you have tips on how to save money during the holidays that you'd like to share? Life Lessons Stuck In A Rut? Here's How To Get Out Of It 7:00 AM It is very easy for people to get into a rut. With busy lives and stress from money, jobs, family life and other things that may not be going your way, there is no wonder you sometimes don’t feel great. Maybe you don’t enjoy your job and unattached from your ambitions. You might be feeling unmotivated to exercise and look for jobs; I know I have certainly felt like that before. Being stuck in a rut can have serious implications on your mental health and cause low mood and depression. However once you understand why a little better then it will become easy to minimize the problems and lead a happier and healthier life. Stuck In A Rut? Here's How To Get Out Of It Make Plans If you are currently in a rut and sick of your everyday, mundane routine then why not try to make plans. Get a diary or calendar and make some plans you can look forward to. This could be as simple as cooking or eating your favourite food, visiting family or going on holiday. It might sound simple but it could make you feel happier and more motivated when you have something to look forward to. For example, when I was stuck in a rut, I made plans to go to the cinema, to meet up with a friend for coffee and to possibly book a holiday. By having these plans in place, I was able to have something to look forward and felt more motivated and happy. Change Routine Many people get in a rut because they get bored of their everyday routine. You might feel like your day job is getting boring or there is no change or improvement. A simple change in routine could you feel happier with your life. For example, you could speak to some new people at work or leaving earlier for work ad enjoying the outdoors more with your morning coffee. Simple little changes might help you get out of a rut. Spice Up Your Life Many people get stuck in a rut because they are bored of their everyday life. It is as simple as doing something fun and new that can help spice up your life. Whether this is with your romantic partner, friends or family. You could start to make more of an effort with your partner and make a ‘date night’ once a week where the two of you dress up and go out for dinner. Or you could do something exciting and thrilling like go to a theme park or zip lining course with a group of friends. Be Spontaneous There is nothing wrong with being spontaneous and sometimes it will really help to get out of a rut. Whether it is something small like having a pizza or Chinese takeaway or as extravagant as going on holiday, it’ll definitely help you get out of a rut! Look For Your Purpose Many people fall into a rut because they don’t know what their purpose in life is. If you’re stuck in a boring office job that has no room for improvement you may be finding life hard. I would suggest looking at having a psychic reading done online at evatarot.net to help provide you with a path going forward. This might help reveal your true purpose on life and what you should be focusing on most in life. Life Lessons Taking Up The Challenge Of A New Career 4:00 AM It’s often the case that when you are in your teens, you don’t have a clear idea of what you’d like to do with your life. You might have some vague thoughts about various careers, or take classes that you have an interest in without being set on a specific job role. Many people fall into jobs that suit their qualifications or were available at the time they were looking, but which they don’t find fulfilling. If you’ve found yourself at a crossroads in your life and you feel dissatisfied with what you’re doing, or inspiration has suddenly struck, and you know what you’d like to do, it’s never too late to retrain and move careers. Taking up the Challenge of a New Career Training and qualifications Many of the jobs that people choose as their dream career paths require academic or vocational qualifications. Healthcare, academia, law, finance, and so on are jobs that require specific qualifications, or if you’re shifting to a trade or creative endeavor, you’ll do much better if you have experience and the appropriate certification. Training for a new career will require determination and a genuine interest in the subject, because you may well have to carry on working while you study. You’ll need an income to support yourself, as well as the means to pay for your course, so unless you have a substantial nest egg to fall back on, you’ll be working all day and then hitting the books at night. If you have chosen the right path, this will be a labor of love and something you’re glad to undertake, so it can be a good test of how well-suited you are to the new career. Becoming involved in your new community Your chances of success in your new career will be improved if you start to make connections and contacts in your chosen field while you are in training. For example, say you want to become an architect. Your first step will be to enroll in a program to get your bachelor of architecture degree. While you’re studying, you can start visiting trade shows, reading the professional literature and joining local and national groups in the field of architecture. There will be forums, Facebook groups, and email lists, as well as job boards and career opportunities online that will help you get involved and find work placements. You can also contact local firms of architects for advice and assistance with your training and career, and you may find you can secure an internship or part-time job while you are studying. This will give you the experience you need to make your resume more eye-catching and display your commitment to the role. Changing career isn’t a spur of the moment decision, as it will affect your life quite dramatically. You’ll have far less leisure time, and you’ll be putting yourself under additional pressure to gain your qualification and find a good job. However, if a career change is right for you, it could make a substantial difference to your quality of life and future happiness. Health & Wellness How to Live Your Best Life 11:00 PM Are you living your best life? Anyone you ask, whether it’s a friend or a stranger, is working towards this ideology. Life can seem short at times, and it’s important to make every moment count because of it. In fact, here is how you can do exactly that in four parts. First, set goals for yourself and pursue them. Secondly, avoid bad habits, as they only impede your well-being. It’s important to be health conscious at all times and even make a habit of smiling more. This is also the perfect time to reflect on your current situation and to decide whether something needs to be changed. How to Live Your Best Life Pursue your goals What are your life goals? Everyone has them, and it’s important to remember that everyone does things at their own pace. If you are not a company owner by the time you reach 30, it’s not the end of the world. In fact, make sure you set realistic goals for yourself and realize that you are always allowed to backtrack. If you are unhappy with your current job, pursue another career option. If you are in debt, learn how to be more financially responsible, and so on. And if you need help, get a virtual or online life coach who can help you become more responsible and disciplined. Avoid bad habits A sure way to live your best life is to steer clear of bad habits. For instance, alcohol and drugs ruin your health and creates an addiction that is hard to get rid of, the longer you wait. In these scenarios, you may need to get professional help, and you can do so by visiting treatment centers in Colorado. Seeking medical help will ensure that you get back on the right life path and are thus being the best version of yourself. Remember that you will have to avoid trigger situations after the fact, and also steer clear of stress or anxiety, as this will ruin your well-being over time. Be health conscious How health conscious are you at this point in time? This means that you must look after your mental and physical well-being at all times in order to focus on other aspects of your life. After all, you will recall from the last time you experienced the common flu, that it was hard to focus on anything outside of the running nose and fever or a headache. Thus, you must make a habit of eating well, exercising daily, relaxing and also picking up a few hobbies for the sake of your mental well-being. Smile more All in all, you should smile more. It will make you happier and affect not only you but those around you. Other benefits include making you confident and helping you give off a proper first impression, which is especially necessary during job interviews. In fact, make a habit of waking up with a smile, and in doing so, you are also channeling positive vibes for the rest of your day. Living your best life will require you to be conscious of your current routine. Bettering yourself and pursuing overall happiness is something that you should work towards starting now, and your efforts will allow you to reap the benefits for decades to come. Health & Wellness Taking The Path To Recovery 7:00 AM An addiction can take over almost every aspect of your life because it can impact your relationships, career, and health. It is, however, possible to change your lifestyle, so you can prevent the dependency from negatively affecting your future. While it is only natural to feel afraid or uncertain, you must understand that treatment is the only way to move forward positively and change your life for the better. If you want to live a life you can be proud of in the future, learn more about taking the path to recovery today. Taking the Path to Recovery Talk to Your Loved Ones About Your Addiction It doesn’t matter if your loved ones are or are not aware of your addiction, you must confide in them about your dependency. You can guarantee they will want to help you every step of the way, from calling up a reputable detox center to helping you rebuild your life once you leave rehab. Don’t put off the conversation and speak to a family member or friend as soon as possible. Enter a Respected Rehab Facility Once you have spoken to your loved ones, your next step must be to enter a rehab facility. A California treatment center can help to detoxify your body and maintain sobriety long after you have left rehab, as they can equip you with the right tools, techniques, and structure to enjoy a lifelong recovery. You can trust you will leave the center feeling happier, healthier and more motivated than ever before to enjoy a positive future. Start Rebuilding Your Life Once you have left rehab, you must focus on the different ways to rebuild your life. For example, it might help to apologize to people you have hurt throughout the years, or you could undertake a healthy hobby or new career that will make you want to jump out of bed every morning. If you were charged with a DUI following an addiction, it might be possible to add an ignition interlock device onto your vehicle, so you can drive a car once again and restore your independence. Remove Toxic People from Your Life Unfortunately, you might have formed one or more negative relationships throughout the years, which could have led to your drug or alcohol addiction. To maintain a sober lifestyle, you must remove toxic people from your life, so you will not be tempted to return to your old ways. Join a Helpful Support Group There will be numerous support groups available near you, which can help you to stay on the right track. For example, you can attend Alcoholic Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, or Overeaters Anonymous, to name just a few. The peer-led group will be attended by people who are living with a similar addiction and issues as you. You may also find it hard not to be inspired by other people’s success stories, which can help you to take more positive steps in your own life. However, you would be wise to regularly attend the sessions to ensure you remain on the right path. Hey, did you find this post helpful or entertaining? Please go ahead and share. Sometimes, however, a simple ‘thank you’ just doesn’t seem like enough, which is when these more creative ways of expressing gratitude can be useful. 6 Ways to Say Thank You Write A Poem It doesn’t matter if you’re a gifted creative writer or you’ve never tried to make anything rhyme before in your life, writing a poem to show how you feel is a great way to express gratitude, and it’s something that the person you give the poem to and whom you have written it about will be able to keep forever. The time you took to write it, and the thoughts and feelings expressed within it, will really show how thankful you are. Give A Gift You can give small gifts or big gifts, or whatever you want to do, and this will easily show just how grateful you are. You could buy tickets to a concert from ticketsales.com or put together a gift basket full of items to pamper themselves with. Books, DVDs, food, a bottle of wine, a bunch of flowers, a picture in a frame, anything and everything can be the ideal thank you gift. Write A Letter Writing thank you letters when we were kids always seemed like something of a chore, but these days it is a dying art form, so if you can resurrect it and write down your thank you and how whatever it was that was done made you feel, it will certainly be remembered when it is received. Make A Video If you don’t want to write anything down, or you’re not sure how best to do it, a great alternative is to make a video that expresses exactly how you feel. This could be you talking to the camera, or perhaps showing the person you’re thinking how you are using their gift (if they gave you one) or how your life is better after whatever it was they did for you. You could even create a short film or animated video, and there are plenty of apps online that will help you to do that. Take Them Out For A Meal Food is a great way to say thank you – it’s something that everyone enjoys, and trying something new is always exciting. So why not take the person you want to thank out for a meal? You can take them to your favorite restaurant to show them what it’s like, or let them choose so that they can feel comfortable with the whole experience. Either way, you’ll be paying and you will need to ideally let them order what they want, so make sure you pick a budget-friendly place (without looking cheap). Pay It Forward It might be that you don’t know the person who helped you so you can’t really thank them. Or perhaps they don’t want any thanks. If so, maybe you could pay their kindness forward instead. You could help a stranger, volunteer your time, make a donation, or many other ideas. Hey, did you find this post helpful or entertaining? Goodness is human nature. We just forget. Maybe because along the way people treated us unjustly or hurt us badly that as a result, we let anger rule our emotions and cloud our judgment. You can't love someone who made you feel like trash. Maybe those around us tell us too often for too long that we are incapable, or not good enough, or that we will never amount to anything that it got ingrained in our minds. Goodness is Human Nature We are gold. But somehow life keeps kicking us down that we got covered in mud we forgot how shiny and precious we are inside. We forgot our identity: that we are born good. via Tumblr We need something or someone to remind us that we are good. We are enough. And that no matter how we think how little our contribution is, we count and we matter. I mean, think about the Butterfly Effect. It is the idea that small things like a flutter of a butterfly's wings, can cause as huge an impact as a hurricane on the other side of the world. That's how powerful it is. That's how powerful our choices are. So a simple effort such as choosing sustainable products can make a humongous difference to our planet. Using paper stem cotton buds over plastic might can save a turtle's life. Advocating on companies that are cruelty-free can save animals from misery and untimely death. Animals aren't put here on earth to suffer or die just so we can perfect that shade of red in our lipstick. Goodness is a choice. Every day we have an option which side to choose, how to react, how to help. For instance, our food can either nourish us or make us ill. What you put inside your body is solely up to you. Those who hurt us can either apologize or not. But to forgive them is all up to us. We can wait until our offender is dead before we forgive them. That is something we choose for ourselves. via Giphy The products we use on a daily basis can come from a company that has no regard for Mother Nature or one that prioritizes and sustains the planet's needs. As I get older, I've become more aware of what I can do to help make the world a better place. Every day, my desire to care for nature grows stronger. I've realized that our life the sum total of every single choice we make every day. What are you choosing? Goodness in the products we choose From consumer to advocate I've discovered Human Nature brand while looking for something new to try in the grocery store. I started as a fan. Then I became addicted to their products because it's SO good. The quality is comparable to leading and expensive brands but at a much lesser price. I buy whatever they release---even those that are for kids, because I just know they're all excellent and worth the money. Having read about wealthy mindset, I researched about them and decided to become a dealer. Only to avail the discount every time I buy. But then the brand is too good not to share. It is so easy to sell because people already know and can testify to how good it is. Let me tell you how awesome Human Nature is: They are cruelty-free. They don't test on animals. They're the first Filipino company that received a prestigious cruelty-free recognition from PETA. Now before I buy cosmetics or anything I consume, I ask first or look for that bunny. It maybe just a simple (or even unnecessary for some) kind of act, but for a beagle who can go blind during the testing or a mice that could die, it is their salvation. via Human Heart Nature They are pro-environment. They see to it that when you rinse off your shampoo or when your sunblock washes off to the sea, it doesn't harm the ocean or the planet in general. They are pro-poor. Human Nature helps give local farmers and unemployed mothers a chance to earn a living. According to their website: "As firm believers in fair trade principles, we offer to buy at just and fair prices from our community-based suppliers, sometimes even above market prices if the market price is not enough to provide a good quality of life for the farmers." They also support Gawad Kalinga which is a movement that has helped build homes for the poorest communities. It is their core belief "to end poverty by first restoring the dignity of the poor." They are pro-Philippines. The ingredients and raw materials they use are locally grown from the Philippines. In case you don't know, the Philippines is rich in natural resources which are mostly used for expensive products you see in the global market like coconut oil. Human Nature recognizes this fact and so they formulate products from here, buying from local suppliers, and using talents and skills of the locals. I am so glad and proud to be a part of this brand. They have the balance between excellence of their product plus a heart for those in need. The quality of their products can compete globally but the price is much more affordable. They generously give back to the community and to the planet. I think I hit the jackpot here. My Human Nature Online Dealer Shop is now open to serve you! I recently opened my very own online dealer shop! If you want to purchase, you can check out my Human Nature Lucky Shop (Love Nature). In fact, I mentioned this business on my Monday Gratitude List last 2014. I've always wanted to feature them on my blog but then I always let other things get in the way.
Life Lessons Ways To Say Thank You 7:09 PM Saying thank you is something we should all do more often – gratitude makes us think about everything we have in life, and makes us happier in general.
