My Ultimate Beach Body Routine

Swimsuit season is officially here! There’s nothing quite like soaking up the sun and splashing in the waves. But let's be real – feeling confident in a swimsuit can be a challenge for many of us. News flash: Every body is a beach body. Period. But if a little extra prep helps you feel your best, we’re totally here for it. Here’s my go-to routine for beach-day bliss.


1. Get an anti-cellulite massage

Cellulite is totally normal. Almost everyone has it – yes, even supermodels. On the other hand, it makes some people feel self-conscious in a bikini. So, how can you improve the appearance of your skin?

Get an anti-cellulite massage. It breaks down the layers of stubborn fat cells near the surface of your skin. It tightens the area and stimulates blood flow.

You can do it at home if you don’t have the time or money to get a professional massage. 

DIY Anti-Cellulite Massage

Preparation:

  • Choose a massage oil or lotion: Opt for one with caffeine, which is believed to help reduce the appearance of cellulite.
  • Exfoliate: Gently exfoliate the area before massaging to improve blood circulation.

Massage Techniques:

  1. Warm-up: Start with long, gentle strokes to warm up the skin.
  2. Kneading: Use your hands to knead the affected area as if you're working with dough. This helps break down fat deposits.
  3. Pinching: Gently pinch the skin with your thumb and index finger, working your way up the leg.
  4. Circular motions: Use circular motions with your palms to stimulate blood flow.
  5. Cupping: Gently cup the skin with your hands and lift slightly to improve circulation.

  • Laser Hair Removal: A more permanent solution, laser hair removal targets hair follicles to reduce hair growth over time. It requires multiple sessions but can lead to significantly less hair regrowth.

Skincare Post-Hair Removal

Proper skin care is essential to prevent irritation and ingrown hairs regardless of your chosen method. Exfoliate regularly, moisturize diligently, and avoid tight clothing immediately after hair removal.

Drink at least eight glasses of water daily for that glowing, dewy look.

  • Watermelon: Packed with water and electrolytes, it's a refreshing and hydrating choice.
  • Bananas: Potassium-rich, they help balance sodium and reduce bloating.
  • Grapefruit: Known for its diuretic properties, it can help with water retention.
  • Avocado: Contains healthy fats and potassium, contributing to overall well-being.
  • Cucumber: High in water content and low in calories, it's a hydrating and refreshing snack.
  • Greek Yogurt: Provides protein and probiotics for gut health.
  • Oatmeal: A filling option with complex carbohydrates for sustained energy.

Tips:

  • Avoid heavy meals: Opt for lighter options to prevent discomfort.
  • Limit salty foods: Excessive sodium can lead to bloating.
  • Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water throughout the day.
  • Consider timing: Eating a light meal a few hours before hitting the beach can give your body time to digest.

6. Get a head start on your tan

We all know that too much sunlight harms your skin, and a natural tan indicates damage. 

According to the American Cancer Society, UV radiation is a big risk factor for skin cancer. A fake tan is better for your body. 

Try a gentle, organic product that suits your skin type. Don’t forget to do an allergy patch test first.

Apply sun cream because fake tan doesn’t usually contain UV protection. You’ll also want to ensure your sunglasses block out harmful sunlight, and investing in a wide-brimmed hat is also a good idea.

Heat stroke and headaches are never enjoyable.

7. Build up your confidence

Everyone wants to feel gorgeous on the beach, but it’s OK to be imperfect. Try to relax and enjoy your trip.
