What is a Good Drink to Detox Your Body?

These days, people have become a lot more conscious about their health. As a result, various health trends and diet methods have arisen. Detoxification is one of them.

Perhaps you may have already heard about the detoxification process, and it intrigued you, for sure! Maybe you are looking for more information about what detox can do for you or which detox drinks you can take to reap such benefits. Well, we are here to help you out!

The Wonders of Detoxification

But first, let us explore the wonders of detoxification. What can it do for you? What are the benefits that you can get from it? Apparently, there are a lot! Here are a few of them:

Physical benefits
The toxins in the body tend to accumulate in the major organs in our body. When you remove the toxins from these organs, they will be able to work a lot more effectively. Your digestive system will be at its most prime condition so you can enjoy faster metabolism and better digestion. As a result, you can lose weight easily.

After the detoxification process, your body will be rid of a huge burden, making you feel light and more energetic. In addition to that, it can help boost your immunity, prevent signs of aging, and promote proper blood circulation.

Psychological Benefits
Not many people know this but detoxification also offers plenty of mental benefits. This is because the toxins that accumulate in the body can also affect the functions of our brain. It may prevent you from getting a good sleep or concentrating on your work. It may also make you feel tired almost all the time.

After detoxification, you will be able to finally enjoy a good night's sleep, feel more energetic and finally, concentrate more on all of your activities.

The Best Detox Drinks to Try

Do you wish to get started on your detox process and finally enjoy all of the benefits mentioned above? Well, here are some drinks that can jump-start the entire process!

1. Water
Sometimes, you do not have to complicate things. Detoxification can happen just by drinking something as plain as water! In fact, this is the easiest, most accessible way to detox. So if you are not drinking enough water (eight to ten glasses a day!), it is about time that you do.

After all, this has been proven to boost the digestive system of the body and can also help in dissolving and flushing out the toxins and waste particles in our system.

2. Lemon Water
While water is already good enough, there may be times when you will get tired of drinking only plain ol' water. If that is the case, you may try boosting its benefits and making it more palatable by adding a lemon into it. This simple addition can help in boosting the entire detoxification process.

Lemon contains high amounts of d-limonene which can assist in the breakdown of the toxic materials in the body. In addition to that, it also has citric acid that can improve the absorption of aluminum hydroxide which is considered to be molecule that fights off toxin.

To prepare the lemon water, you simply just have to simply squeeze one lemon in 8 oz of water. But make sure to drink this water with straw as lemon tends to stain the teeth.

3. Tea
detox tea is one of the most popular detox recipes that we have nowadays. Not only are teas widely available, this can also be a good substitute for coffee-a drink that you may need to shy away from during the detoxification process.

But with the hundreds of detox teas in the market, how can you choose the one that is best for you? The first thing that you need to take a look at is the ingredient. Some of the effective detox ingredients are milk thistle, dandelion, artichoke, burdock, and senna. Second, you need to take a look at the reviews so you can know if it does work or not. But also, be on the lookout for possible side effects.

4. Green Juice or Smoothie
A drink that contains plenty of leafy green vegetables? That may seem icky but believe us when we say that it is good for your gut! After all, these vegetables contain high amounts of fiber which are substances that can sweep your digestive system, getting rid of any toxins or waste materials.

If you wish to make the most out of your green juice, then you should incorporate the healthiest green vegetables available in the market. These may include broccoli, spinach, kale, and parsley. If you wish to add some sweetness to it, you can also add a few fruits like cucumber, apple, and lemon juice.

5. Apple Cider Vinegar
ACV is fast becoming a popular superfood (or drink!). It is used as a remedy for a wide array of illnesses, and it can be used in detoxifying the body. This is because this can soothe digestive tissues, minimize water retention, and curb the appetite.

Before you get put off with the idea of drinking apple cider vinegar, please be reminded that apple cider vinegar should not be drank directly ever. It should be diluted with water. To prepare an apple cider vinegar drink, add 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to a glass of warm water. You can also add 2 tablespoons of lemon juice to make the drink more palatable.

There is no denying the fact that detox is good for the body. It can help us lose weight, make our skin look healthier and boost our energy. Take any of the drinks mentioned above, and for sure, you can enjoy the benefits of detox!

  1. Great tips and a very helpful post! x

  2. I prefer plain water, of course a dash of lemon juice will be heavenly. But still, I don't overdo it with detox. Anything over done will have other implications on our body.
