How-To Give Something Back To The Community With Your Career 12:13 PM What gets you out of bed in the morning? Motivation is a key factor when choosing which career path to follow. Some people are motivated by money, and while others prioritize low stress and flexible working hours. Others still put their creative or artistic talents to work or pursue their personal interests regardless of income. There’s no right or wrong answer, but it has to be said that there are many people in the world who have dedicated their time and talents to help their community to thrive. Whether you are just starting out on your career path, are looking for a career change, or are returning to the world of work after having a family, choosing a role that helps your community could be the key to lifelong job satisfaction. In terms of the education and training required, some only need a high school diploma to get started. For others, you may need more advanced education. Here are some examples of fantastic careers that give something back to the community. Give Something Back to the Community with Your Career 1. Social Worker A social worker supports people who are going through the most challenging times in their lives by connecting them with the right organizations and resources. The issues social workers are likely to face include family trauma, mental health, childcare, substance abuse, health, and employment. Social workers need to study for a bachelor’s degree in social work. With an advanced degree, they may be able to advance to a higher salary or even obtain a position as a community services manager if they gain enough experience. 2. Community Services Manager While it is the social workers who are directly delivering programs of support in the community, the community services manager is responsible for the planning and development of community programs and social services. They are sometimes referred to as social services managers and are dedicated to developing and coordinating programs that will improve the lives of people in their community. This includes research and administration as well as monitoring progress and analyzing the impact of a program. A community services manager will need to have excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills as well as experience in social work and a master of social work degree. 3. Community Health Worker A community health worker is someone who helps the community live healthier lifestyles and works to increase awareness around potential health issues and preventative measures they can take. They will assess the needs of the community, develop a program that meets those needs, deliver it, and monitor its impact. A community health worker can often represent a community when trying to secure improved health facilities or resources. To become a community health worker, a high school diploma is needed followed by specific training. 4. Law Enforcement Law enforcement is a highly regarded but challenging career, but there are few others that are quite so selfless. The law enforcement officer works to protect their community, often putting themselves in danger in the process. Officers can work at a local, state, or federal level by upholding the law, arresting those who are suspected of breaking the law, and helping people who are in emergency situations. They may also be involved in ongoing criminal investigations and/or legal proceedings. To become a police officer, you need to have a high school diploma, be over 21 and have passed the training (including a minimum level of physical fitness). 5. Firefighter Firefighters are most associated with preventing and extinguishing fires in the community, but they are involved in protecting the community in many more ways. They will also respond to emergencies that don’t involve fire but require firetruck equipment, and they may care for injured people at the scene. Firefighters regularly put their lives at risk in their efforts to serve the community. What they do is not easy. Thankfully, there is now fire reporting software that helps fire services efficiently manage their entire operation throughout every step of the process, while also improving the safety of those involved in responding to incidents.Having achieved a high school diploma, firefighters need to pass specific training, be very physically fit and have a driver’s license. 6. Occupational Therapist An occupational therapist works with people of all ages to try and help them overcome health issues that negatively affect their quality of life. They help young children, teenagers, adults, and elderly people who have suffered injuries or illnesses (mental or physical) that are restricting them. Whether recovering from an accident, a life-changing injury, or an ongoing condition, an occupational therapist can be the key to their independence. Occupational therapists need to obtain a master’s degree and must be licensed. 7. Teacher There is a very famous song that says that children are our future, and if you believe that to be true, helping to educate children is an incredibly worthwhile use of your career.Education is not only about academic achievement but is also crucial in helping young people become the best possible versions of themselves. Equipping children with the academic, social, and practical skills (not to mention emotional maturity) they need in order to thrive as adults are literally building your community’s future. You can play a crucial role in helping them discover their unique talents and passions that could stay with them throughout their lives. 8. Counselor Counseling is a broad term that encompasses several careers, but in general terms, a counselor is someone who supports people who are working through emotional and mental problems in their lives. Often, a counselor will work in a specific niche, such as couples counseling, school guidance counseling, mental health, family trauma or breakdown, or substance misuse and addiction issues. The support provided can take many forms, including cognitive behavioral therapy, talking therapy, and experiential therapy. 9. Registered Nurse A registered nurse is a crucial role in the community. While a physician or surgeon will diagnose and prescribe treatment and/or surgery for patients, it is a nurse who provides practical and emotional care. Nurses are also often able to fulfill a wider role in the community, including educating people about healthy living and preventing illnesses.A nurse practitioner can take on a lot of the same responsibilities as a physician, including prescribing treatment. Are you still deciding which path to take? Steve Jobs once said, "Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do."Choose a career that gives back to the community and feel your love tank fill up.
Dogs 4 Reasons Why Dogs Are The Best 9:24 AM Why Dogs Are The Best Everyone thinks they have the best dog, and none of them is wrong.-W.R. Purche We have 17 dogs at home. 17 fluffy, crazy, zooming fluffy balls. It's crazy. But you know what? They're worth the money spent on vet visits, food, medicines, and grooming...The time and effort to clean after them...And waking up at 3am because they need to go or a leaf moved and it spooked them. 😄Because...Nothing compares to the loyalty and love of dogs. Dogs are indeed a man's best friend. They are friends for life.Dogs are simply the best and here are 4 reasons why.4 Reasons Why Dogs Are The Best1. Dogs can cheer you up Stress is inevitable. But you don't need a shrink if you have dogs. Just hug your dogs. Or join them in their crazy games. Their silly antics are enough to turn your frown upside down. 2. Dogs are great protectors Dogs see you as part of their pack. And they will give their lives protecting their own. 3. Dogs are loyal friends When the world turns its back on you, you can count on your dog to stay. There are stories about dogs not leaving their humans when tragedy happens, asking for help when a family member or another animal is in trouble or injured, and even sleeping on their human's grave for days. Do you know Hachiko? His story of loyalty left the world amazed. He's immortalized with a statue. One of our dogs died and his best pal stopped eating for days. He wouldn't sleep. He would sit and look at the part of the yard where we buried his friend. We even caught him lying beside it. Only when we let one of the new puppies play with him every day did he start to recover and cheer up. 4. Dogs can teach us lessons in life Dogs bite their enemies but they stay loyal to their friends. They show kindness to humans and to other animals that will put the self-righteous to shame. They're selfless, unconditional, and all-out when it comes to giving their love. Looking to their innocent eyes is a great reminder of what matters most in life. If forcing your dogs to take selfies is a crime, then I'm guilty. My phone is full of dog pictures, videos, and our selfies together. Taking selfies with your dogs? Which OPPO #SelfieExpert smartphone produces the best selfies? OPPO is no doubt the #SelfieExpert smartphone. But which OPPO smartphone is the best choice in taking selfies with your dogs? OPPO F3 There's Oppo F3. It has a dual front camera. One 16MP camera with extra-large pixels and one double view group selfie camera. So that's perfect for either taking selfies with one dog or taking a group selfie with all 17 dogs. Although in my experience, that's quite impossible as it's so hard to keep them still when they're together. But then OPPO F3 has a Palm Shutter that helps make it easy to take that snap. It also has an anti-shake feature so even when you can't hold your dog still while holding the camera, you'll still be able to get a clear and crisp photo that's ultra HD. The rear camera is 13MP that lets you get awesome night shots even during late-night selfie sessions with your dogs (I take photos of them sleeping beside me too). The thing about having dogs is that you don't only bring your essentials when you go out, you also bring theirs. So the lightweight, thin and sleek design is perfect to bring along during leisurely walks, going to the vet, or running errands. Having dogs will make you alert. You should always be on your toes. OPPO F3 has advanced upgraded touch access that's fast, accurate, and responsive. So no time is wasted trying to unlock your phone when another epic moment happens. You'll surely capture it! OPPO A39 OPPO 39 uses a front camera with extra-large 1.4um pixels and a 1/4-inch sensor. They have higher light sensitivity and frame rate, so you take stunningly beautiful photos. It also enables brilliant night shots with its 13MP rear camera. It's also lightweight at 147G and has a handsome arc edge design. Its 5.2-inch 2.5D HD screen is easy on the eyes. You can store as many selfies with 32GB RAM 32GB ROM. That solves the problem of not having enough space. It makes taking unstoppable selfies possible. If you're out with your dog for a long time, you don't have to worry about the battery. That's a 2900mAh battery. Both OPPO F3 and OPPO A39 have Beautify 4.0 that makes an already great selfie even more stunning. Each has its own unique and impressive qualities. Personal pick Honestly, it is tough to choose. But...Considering that we have more than just one dog and it's always been an epic fail to try to take a group selfie with them, I'd go for OPPO F3 on this one. If only to solve the predicament of taking a group selfie with all 17 dogs. Agree? Do you have a dog? Why do you think they're the best? Which OPPO #SelfieExpert smartphone do you think will produce the best selfie? Update: Because of this article, I won an OPPO F3 phone. Thank you OPPO Philippines and Nuffnang Ph!
Business Should You Hire An SEO Consultant Or SEO Company? 8:39 PM Should You Hire An SEO Consultant Or SEO Company When hiring for SEO, many things need to be considered. To improve your website, you should determine whether an SEO agency or a specific SEO marketing consultant is a better fit. Not all SEO companies are created equal. Below we take a look at the differences in working with each. Although there are some similarities, there will defiantly be differences in communication, quality of work, and scope of work. How Most SEO Agencies Work While there are many different size SEO companies, this is an overview of how many companies work. When you first call an SEO company, you generally speak with a salesperson. But unfortunately, they are usually not an SEO expert. After the initial sales call, some agencies might pass you on to an SEO Manager. The managers generally oversee several SEO associates who will manage and perform the work on your account. Depending on the company, your contact may be the SEO manager or the SEO associate. Remember that most SEO associates are not entry-level but just one step above. Most SEO associates have 1-3 years of experience with SEO. How Most SEO Consultants Work When you call an SEO consultant, you usually speak with someone with anywhere from 5-15 years of experience within the industry. Since you are dealing with a real experienced SEO, they take time to review your website and put a specific game plan in place to drive more organic search engine traffic to your website. Occasionally, SEO consultants may have an assistant who helps them with small tasks, but you never get handed off to an employee with 1-2 years of experience. Communication is done with the specific consultant you hire. However, when you have important questions, an experienced SEO can provide the answer. Advantages of Company Vs. Consultant Although there are many benefits to hiring an SEO Consultant over a large company, there are also some benefits with the latter. Many consultants are experts at a few things. Especially in SEO, as there are many segments. When you work with a larger company, they may offer services that a consultant won't provide. This may include web design, pay-per-click, and online reputation management. Words of Caution With both companies and consultants, there are high-quality ones and low-quality ones. Companies that advertise SEO results for $199 a month will not only waste your money but may put your website in danger of getting a spam penalty from Google. Some low-end consultants may do the same. However, SEO is hard work and takes a lot of time.A good SEO takes time and costs something. Depending on your market and niche, you should spend at least $1,500 to $5,000 monthly for small businesses and even more for more prominent competitive places. SEO Consultant or SEO CompanyIf you want someone focused on a specific aspect of SEO and a high-level expert hiring an SEO consultant is your way to go. If you prefer a larger team for SEO and other needs, you may be better suited for a larger organization to handle your online marketing needs.Ultimately, you should hire an SEO consultant or SEO company based on your budget, business preference, and requirements. If you're a business owner, would you hire an SEO consultant or an SEO company?

Faith Life Lessons From A Bumblebee: Fly Anyway 1:00 PM When people tell you your wings are too small, flap them and fly anyway. Life Lessons From A Bumblebee: Fly Anyway They say that the bumblebee is not supposed to fly. It is not physically capable of flying. The bumblebee's wing size is not big enough to support its body and make flying possible. Experts argue. Science keeps on proving facts and debunking myths. But, the bumblebee in all its glory flies anyway. Flapping its plain and feeble looking tiny wings and reaching heights experts used to believe it will never reach, the bumblebee defies physics and flies on. Despite what the naysayers, doubters, critics and the pros say, the bumblebee minds its own business; flying triumphantly, hopping from one lovely flower to another, sucking sweet nectar, playing its part in the beautiful circle of life, making the world a little more colorful by defying the odds. The bumblebee does what everyone else says it couldn't and shouldn't do. Because the bumblebee couldn't care less about what others think. Well, they couldn't hear or understand science but you get the picture. I could--for the lack of a better word---be jealous of the bumblebee. How I wish I couldn't hear or understand what the "experts" say about what I can and cannot do. I could be reaching heights I never thought I could. I could be doing things I never thought I'd be able to do. I could be accomplishing incredible things. But, no. I listen to people who plant doubt in my heart. "Yeah, right. That's the dream. Dream on." "Who told you you can? Look at yourself." "You're too dumb for that." Bumblebee, you don't know how lucky you are! Here's the good news for us who are not as lucky as the bumblebee: it's never too late! It's okay to start over. It is never too late to be what you might have been (George Eliot). I can still do what the bumblebee does; fly even though people tell me I can't. I'll pursue my purpose. I'll be an essential part of the circle of life, making the world a little more beautiful with what I do. It's time to heed the lesson the bumblebee has been teaching us since it flapped its wings from day one and showed the critics how wrong they were. Who are the "experts" in your life? Who are those people who tell you "you can't do it"? Your parents Maybe they are your parents who belittle your dreams. Sometimes they don't mean it. They maybe trying to protect you from heartache and disappointments. They just don't know how to say it right. You have to understand that they might have gotten this from their parents too. Look at the culture they grew up in. Consider the condition and situation where they were raised. Your teacher Maybe it's your teacher who told you you're not good enough or you're slow. You're not alone. In 1895, Albert Einstein’s teacher told his father: “It doesn’t matter what he does, he will never amount to anything.” Einstein, like the bumblebee didn't listen to that expert and flapped his wings and flew anyway. Do you know who that teacher was? I bet you don't. But, who hasn't heard of Einstein's name? He put a dent in this world. 😉 Your boss Maybe your boss told you that you will never be successful. If you look up to that person as he's an expert in your field, you may believe him. But his opinion does not define you. He's just as human and imperfect as you are. Continue to learn, improve and train. It's good to be self-aware. Know your limitations. Know what you need to develop. Get better every day. All the experts were once newbies. Maybe once in their lives they also wanted to fly but someone cut their wings off. Trolls You maybe pouring your heart out and spending hours of your precious time writing an article, creating videos, finishing your arts, and then a troll saw it and tell you the most hurtful comments you've heard. These are noises. They are definitely not experts and not worth giving your time. Hurting people hurt people. It is sad but that's the reality. Where are your wings? What are you good at? What is the one thing that you really want to do? Flap your tiny wings. Make do of whatever little it is that you have. What are your gifts? Your talent, your skills, your creativity, your wit, the passion in your heart---they are all that you need to bring you places. Of course, you need to fuel them with faith. Know if your dreams are really yours and not those of others for you. They maybe little for the doubters' and naysayers' eyes, and in the years of listening to them, their size may have shrunk in your eyes too. Use them anyway. What if David saw his weapon the way onlookers saw it? "That's all you have? A sling and five stones? They're good for fending off animals and protecting your sheep. But they're no match to this mighty giant. Get real! Go back to being a shepherd." They wouldn't have defeated the Philistines. If he changed his weapon to a sword, he might have not won. Because those were not his "wings". David may look like a loser to soldiers but he did what he's good at...and eventually became a king. Whose wings are you using? Is that really what you want and not what your parents wish you would do? Is it really what you expect to do and not what society dictates you? Do you want to do it because everybody's doing it and you're scared to be the odd one out? If you're about to give in to peer pressure, remember these words from Rick Warren: Those who follow the crowd usually get lost in it. Flap your plain and feeble looking tiny wings. Prove the doubters wrong. More importantly, prove it to yourself. For you are your own worst critic. It's hard to shake off the negativity if it's inside your head 24/7. Change the movie playing in your head. In reality, you are the only one stopping you from reaching your dreams. The critics' words are just words. It's up to you if you will let it become your reality. The bumblebee did not let science define his destiny. He let his heart direct him. Just be. Just do. Just fly. Defy the odds. Like that little bumblebee, ignore what they say and fly anyway.

Faith When The Devil Tries Too Hard 10:29 PM When The Devil Tries Too Hard It is when I’m close to reaching my goal, feeling joyful, or planning a promising project, when the devil tries too hard to steal my happiness. I’ve read somewhere that you’ll know if you’re really close to your dreams when the devil is working double time to delay you, discourage you, and make you quit. He tries to take away everything important to you to distract you. Sometimes he even sends people---friends, relatives, significant other into our lives to distract us. Be careful what and with whom you are spending most of your time with. Ask yourself, is this a distraction or a blessing? Are they bringing you closer to your dreams or are they pulling you away? Remember: you are made to do great things. The enemy doesn’t have to do anything major to stop you. He only needs to take your eyes off of God. What happens next is up to you. When the devil tries too hard, always find the strength to stand up again and shake it off. Despite your weakness and vulnerability, God won’t let His child be defeated. "That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong." - 2 Corinthians 12:10 The devil would usually take away the things that you’ve been holding closest to your heart. This is to break your spirit and make you turn away from God. Remember that when you have God, you have everything you need. God will always provide you of what you NEED. As a mere mortal, I am flawed. I admit that sometimes, I let bad things discourage me. When you lose a loved one, when an investment failed, when a plan didn't go as expected, when someone hurt you, It's easy to question God's presence. No wonder a lot of people turn their backs from faith. I’m sure he’s laughing so hard just by watching me fail and feel lost. But in the end, I realized that it’s really up to you if you let him win. You can either look at things from a victim’s perspective or with victor’s mindset. Don't let loneliness be your destination. Let it only be part of your journey; to hone you, to make you stronger. No matter how hard it gets, or how many distractions the devil tries to throw your way, don’t take your eyes off God. The next time you’re feeling weak, just remember that you are an inch closer to your dreams and victory. Why do you think the devil tries so hard? He knows he’s losing the battle, that’s why. Bible verses to help you get through the tough times When the devil tries too hard, remember these passages: I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten--the great locust and the young locust, the other locusts and the locust swarm--my great army that I sent among you. --- Joel 2:25 After Job had prayed for his friends, the LORD made him prosperous again and gave him twice as much as he had before. --- Job 42:10 The LORD will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. --- Psalm 121:7 I can do all things through Christ Who strengthens me. --- Philippians 4:13 Because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. ---James 1:3 These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold--though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world. ---1 Peter 1:7 The LORD is my shepherd; I have all that I need. --- Psalm 23:1 Rescue me from my enemies, O LORD. I come to you for protection. ---Psalm 143:9 For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go. ---Psalm 91:11 God, your God, will restore everything you lost; He'll have compassion on you; He'll come back and pick up the pieces from all the places where you were scattered. No matter how far away you end up, God, your God, will get you out of there and bring you back to the land your ancestors once possessed. It will be yours again. He will give you a good life and make you more numerous than your ancestors. God, your God, will cut away the thick calluses on your heart and your children's hearts, freeing you to love God, your God, with your whole heart and soul and live, really live. God, your God, will put all these curses on your enemies who hated you and were out to get you. And you will make a new start, listening obediently to God, keeping all his commandments that I'm commanding you today. God, your God, will outdo himself in making things go well for you: you'll have babies, get calves, grow crops, and enjoy an all-around good life. Yes, God will start enjoying you again, making things go well for you just as he enjoyed doing it for your ancestors. But only if you listen obediently to God, your God, and keep the commandments and regulations written in this Book of Revelation. Nothing halfhearted here; you must return to God, your God, totally, heart and soul, holding nothing back. This commandment that I'm commanding you today isn't too much for you, it's not out of your reach. It's not on a high mountain - you don't have to get mountaineers to climb the peak and bring it down to your level and explain it before you can live it. And it's not across the ocean - you don't have to send sailors out to get it, bring it back, and then explain it before you can live it. --- Deuteronomy 30:3-13 I shared this article on The Praying Woman and edited for my blog.

Business Is A Career In Healthcare Right For You? 11:09 PM Is A Career In Healthcare Right For You Healthcare providers have proven real-life heroes in the past couple of years. And they do more than what you see. For instance, nurses have technical and administrative roles in healthcare planning, staff management, and more. Let's look at healthcare careers and see if it is right for you. Is healthcare growing or shrinking? The good news is that in most areas of healthcare, there's an apparent expanding demand. Healthcare is growing from counties with local and affordable clinics or hospitals needing reliable registered nurses (RNs) to work in specialist care wards. People get sicker as they age, so the demand for healthcare facilities only grows with an aging population. In the US alone, 16% of the population belongs in the age range of 65 and older. The healthcare industry grows yearly, and healthcare professionals face strenuous and demanding daily tasks. For this reason, each healthcare industry must do all it can to help workers and prevent carer burnout also from all other workers too. This could be with support, fair pay, a better work environment, etc. Better Job Security? In most areas of healthcare, there needs to be more qualified nurses, doctors, and other medical personnel. Hospitals often cannot hire fast enough to meet demands, a growing problem. Some healthcare professionals, like nurses, primarily work in different fields, like the corporate world.Current concerns over artificial intelligence, automation, and other technology-related innovations might threaten healthcare professionals' job roles. Are nurses going to be replaced by robots soon? How will they affect the healthcare profession? AI could suggest what might be wrong with a patient based on their diagnosis or test results, but they can't provide warmth and personal care from doctors or nurses. The flexibility of where to work in the US or Abroad? Given the demand for qualified personnel to work in certain positions in healthcare, healthcare professionals are needed across the States. That's true in larger cities and smaller rural communities that often find it challenging to attract the best talent. For anyone who enjoys small-town living and a greater sense of community, a nursing role within the community will be perfect, away from the hustle and bustle of big-city life. A generous relocation allowance sometimes encourages the best talent to move from a different state. The flexibility for nurses is outstanding. Some have chosen to be van dwellers, moving to different nursing jobs through the seasons. This is true of Nate Hemann, an RN, who recently hit the news with stories about his ownership of a home on wheels. There's also an occupational therapist who does the same thing, and several female travel nurses have embraced the RV lifestyle for greater flexibility. How to get involved with healthcare? The time to study to become a doctor and the debt one might accumulate before graduating are extreme. By contrast, nursing is a common choice for those who want to be in the healthcare industry. The great thing about nursing is that there's a clear educational path in this career, with nurses able to decide how far they wish to progress. Most health science courses require a University Clinical Aptitude Test or UCAT to get entry. There are UCAT guides to help you prepare for your aptitude test. Studying for an Associate degree in Nursing is one possible step that takes at least a couple of years but provides what is required to work in the profession. Becoming an RN does require an exam and passing the licensing requirements for the state where you'll be working. From the registered nurse stage, moving from an RN to BSN is a matter of taking the BSN degree in nursing, which is more extended and advanced. Still working as an RN, you'll have access to more senior nursing positions. The RN to BSN in Georgia also suits people who plan to stay and work in that state. Is the healthcare career trajectory positive? Nurses can move from the BSN to study for a master's in nursing. From there, a Ph.D. is possible too. Alternatively, at the master's level, there's the option to study for a future nursing administrator role. This would move behind the scenes in charge of how the hospital is run to ensure that frontline medical staff has what they need to perform at their best. Healthcare professional Is a Career In Healthcare Right For You? Overall, healthcare is a fantastic field to be a part of. There are optimistic expectations regarding job demand, availability, and flexibility too. In terms of the roles themselves, you're free to pick one that matches your skills and preferences.
