Travels 3 Ways to Travel to Suit Any Personality 8:00 AM If you enjoy seeing new things, you may be interested in the different trips you can take. Of course, your likes and dislikes will determine which vacation you book. Are you an introvert that enjoys quiet time alone and you prefer the scenic view rather than dealing with crowds? Or perhaps you’re more of an outgoing individual that can’t wait to get out among others. Regardless of your personality type, you can find a vacation dream destination just waiting for you to enjoy. Knowing some of the various ways to travel may be helpful to you. 3 Ways to Travel to Suit Any Personality Visit a resort If you’re looking for a more luxurious stay and one that helps you unwind on your annual vacation, you may want to visit Welk Resorts. This facility offers you a wide variety of activities and amenities that range from a rock climbing wall to swimming areas to enable your stay to be a leisurely one. Regardless if you want to get in some sun or enjoy the scenic views around you while enjoying fine dining, you can have it all by booking at this location. Of course, if you’re a golfer there are numerous courses that can help you up your game or just enjoy a relaxing day doing this fun sport. Take a cruise If you’re more of the one-stop shopper, you can book a cruise to an exotic destination. Cruise lines travel all over the world, and some of the most enjoy stops include the Bahamas, Caribbean’s, and Mexico. Of course, many travelers enjoy making the most of the time on the boat. CruiseMapper states the longest two cruise ships are the Allure and the Oasis. Both of these measures 1,181 feet in length and you can rest assured you will have plenty to do if you book a trip on a cruise ship. Other advantages of setting sail include having an unlimited amount of food and non-alcoholic beverages included in your booking price. Of course, being able to eat any time of the day or night while on the ocean is one of the many benefits of this type of vacation. Alcoholic drinks are available at an additional cost, and if you partake in many these, you can typically get a package deal at a discounted rate. Book a flight Going across the country can be a fun and exciting adventure for you to enjoy. However, if you hate being in the car all day and you dread the thought of spending hours on the road, you may want to book a flight. Keep in mind that the requirements necessary for flying are quite strict these days. You’ll need to pack your passport if you’re traveling internationally and have it easily visible before boarding the plane. Having your belongings searched is common these days, and you should be prepared for this in advance. Listed below are things you may want to pack in your carry-on bag since you will be on the plan until it lands: 1. Prescriptions – Are you required to take any type of medication on a daily basis? If so, you will want to have these with you. 2. Phone charger – Keeping your mobile devices well-charged and easy to use is essential for most people. 3. Entertainment – If you enjoy reading or listening to music, it’s a great idea to have a book or your favorite music device with you. This can help the trip be a much more enjoyable one. Taking time for yourself is essential to help you relax and get the most out of life. Going on a vacation is the key to helping you do so and may offer health benefits in the process. Travels The Beauty Of Sipalay 7:53 PM The Philippines is full of beautiful islands and sights that can mesmerize anyone. When you visit here, don't miss to see the beauty of Sipalay. Let me give you a short tour. The Beauty Of Sipalay Sipalay, The Jewel of the Sugar Island, is about 4 to 5 hours by bus and 3-hour drive by car from Bacolod City (capital city of Negros Province). Being far away from Bacolod, Sipalay has uncrowded beaches and resorts that's perfect for those who want to have a private getaway. Me and the cousins went there for a vacation over a weekend and we had an awesome time. Sure there were miscommunication with the guide, the weather did not cooperate (it's always stormy in the Philippines) so we were unable to go island hopping. But there are just too many great places to see in Sipalay even without going island hopping or diving---another famous activity when in Sipalay. We went to the 3 most popular destinations and we did so renting a tricycle. It's cheaper and faster. (Click individual image to view in full size) Nataasan Beach Resort Nataasan is by far the most expensive resort we went to in Sipalay, but it's also our favorite. We love the privacy it offers (we felt like we own the resort because we were the only ones using the pool), the beauty of the place, the food they serve (expensive but worth it), and the quiet beach, Nataasan Beach Resort is in Punta Ballo, Brgy. IV, Sipalay City, Negros Occidental with 17 rooms to choose from. Again, the rates are expensive. But then privacy doesn't come cheap. Perth Paradise Perth Paradise has a spectacular view of islets surrounding it but the pool is really just small. It looks good on pictures but if you expect a vast infinity pool, you'll be disappointed. Nevertheless, you will enjoy this picturesque resort. Perth Paradise is in Brgy. 4, Sitio Sambulawan. Tinagong Dagat Another picture perfect resort is Tinagong Dagat. If you want a cheaper accommodation, a fantastic view, but don't really plan on swimming, Tinagong Dagat should be your choice. Tinagong Dagat is in 4 Sitio Latasan, Sipalay. Just rent a trike to go around places. I recommend our tour guide Javal. You may contact him at 639108654309. He's terrific as he's really knowledgeable with the place (where to eat, where to visit, what the place is about) and he gives a good price (not updated of how much the current rates are though so you better check with him). Unfortunately, it was raining really hard when we did our tour. The sun only came up later when we were about to check out. We weren't able to visit Sugar Beach due to miscommunication with our other tour guide. But that's alright. We can always visit it next time. All in all, I'd recommend Sipalay to anyone who wants to travel Negros. Especially on top of the list is Nataasan Beach Resort. We spent more than we expected, yes. But it's surely worth the price. Travel south and see the beauty of Sipalay. Hey, did you find this post helpful or entertaining? Please go ahead and share. Share buttons on the left and at the bottom of the article. Big thanks! We can surely feel it now. Where's your next summer destination? I usually go to the beach when summer beckons. Boracay, Fortune Island, Isla de Gigantes, Baler, Calaguas---these are only a few of my favorite beach summer destinations. It's the perfect time to submerge in the pristine clear waters of the Philippine beaches, and sink my feet in the white sand to relax. But, this summer I dream of going to a cool place. Someplace different from my usual summer destinations. This year, I want my summer escapade to be an escape from everything that screams of summer. Away from the heat of the sun. Away from the sand on my feet, and the smell of salt in the air. This year, I dream of going to Japan. Dream Summer Destination: Japan Why Japan? Cherry blossoms Cherry blossoms is one of the many reasons people visit Japan because it's trademark to them. I love pink and I love flowers. And I love to see something new and be surrounded by nature. Cherry blossoms is enough reason for me to want to visit Japan. The cherry blossom season typically takes place in early April. So that's still summer here. Pinterest Mt. Fuji A majestic landmark and icon, you can't not go and see Mt. Fuji when you're in Japan. With it's perfect symmetry and unique appearance, this majestic mountain is on top of my list. One Japan Harry Potter World It is unforgivable for a Potterhead like me to visit Japan and not see the Harry Potter world. It's a crime! I want to drink butterbeer, visit the stores in Diagon Alley, get my wand at Ollivander's, and experience the magic all over again. Inside the magic Ghibli Museum Speaking of magic, who didn't fall in love with the magical world of Hayao Miyazaki? The moment I saw Spirited Away and learned about Ghibli Museum, I knew I have to go there before I die. I'd like to visit Kiki's Bakery, see Howl's Moving Castle and Castle in the Sky exhibits, and step into the fantastic creations of Mr. Miyazaki. Tofugu Hachiko As a dog foster parent, I know the depth of a dog's love, loyalty and dedication. The most popular story of which is of Hachiko's. No, I can't watch the movie. I might get a breakdown. But I want to see and give my reverence to the great Hachiko in his well-deserved and honored monument. Pinterest Castles and temples There are a lot of astonishing architectures in Japan. Most of which are their castles and temples that could rival and easily beat their modern buildings in beauty anytime. White Heron Castle or Himeji Castle, Edo castle, Kinkaku-ji, Matsumoto Castle and Senso-ji. There are just a few of these beauties I want to see in Japan. Faxo Where's your dream summer destination?

Travels Capturing Philippines' Beauty 8:00 AM There's no question that the Philippines is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. According to the latest survey, three islands---Palawan, Cebu and Boracay--- are among the top 5 most beautiful islands in the world. So, if you disagree, go check the numbers. 😉 I have personally explored a few places in the Philippines and captured its beauty on my phone. There is no doubt. It is indeed captivating. Truly, it is more fun here. (Click individual image to view in full size) What is worth capturing in the Philippines? The scenery See the pristine beaches, white sand, rich marine life. Climb the wondrous peaks, be surrounded by the sea of clouds, explore the caves. Travel down memory lane with historical buildings. There is just endless options with what you can see in the Philippines. Here are a few of my travels captured from my phone. Boracay Fortune Island Calaguas Isla de Gigantes Guimaras The Ruins, Talisay Balay Negrense in Silay - Paris of Negros The people Filipinos are world-class when it comes to talents and skills. But more than that, we are known for our hospitality and resilience. We treat our guests like royalty and make sure their trip will be something worth remembering. We remain strong even in the face of tragedies. photo credit: CNN Celebrating love amidst the storm and flood. (photo: Boy Wander) And we are confidently beautiful with a heart. (photo: Google images) Festivals Filipinos are revellers in general. We love to have fun albeit in a loud way. Thus, there are fiestas anywhere. Every province in every region celebrates a certain festival that depicts history, reflects the culture and celebrates oneness. As expected, it's always vibrant, fun, and it could get crazy sometimes. Here are a few famous festivals enjoyed by locals and foreigners alike: A parade of flowers at Baguio's Panagbenga Festival Yes, the floats are made of fresh flowers. (photo: Islands of the Philippines) The food Your trip to the Philippines, that is, capturing Philippines' beauty will not be complete if you don't try Filipino foods. Adobo, sinigang, sisig, tinolang manok, kare-kare, halo-halo are only a few of the many traditional Filipino dishes that will capture your heart and make you ask for more. Anthony Bourdain (photos: Buzzfeed) Favorite destination to capture The next place I want to capture the beauty of in the Philippines is somewhere I haven't gone to yet, but dying to see---Palawan. It's been consistently on the top most beautiful islands in the world. It's kind of crazy to say that Palawan is my favorite destination because I haven't been there yet. I don't need to be there to know that Palawan is worth capturing. Palawan, I knew I loved you before I met you. If this snap of Palawan can't convince you to visit, I don't know what could. (photo: Palawan Island Philippines) The Philippines is such a beautiful place you'll fall in love with. It's good to keep memories of your travels. I mostly travel with my smartphone and that's what I used to take photos. Invest in a good camera to make capturing Philippines' fascinating beauty a whole lot better. For Moms 4 Ways to Be a Traveler When You Can’t Actually Travel 8:31 AM The pictures were beckoning and mocking at the same time. Clear blue water, umbrellas in the soft sand, beautiful mountains in the distance. I wanted to be there. But then came the reality check. You can’t go. Who would watch the kids? You have work. It’s impossible to get time off. Who would pay for this? And I closed the tab, feeling like I was shutting down a dream. Again. Can you relate? Maybe it’s not the kids holding you back or the job issues. But there’s something preventing your globetrotting heart from leaving home. Here are 4 ways you can be a traveler when you can’t actually travel. 4 Ways to Be a Traveler When You Can’t Actually Travel 1. Get Out – Locally. Find a new part of town. Take a Sunday drive and get coffee. Just change your scenery to someplace new. If you can’t make time for an hour long drive you’ll never have time for a week vacation. Baby steps. You can even go somewhere locally that you’ve been before and try to experience it in a new way. Sit somewhere different. Go for breakfast instead of dinner. Be open to seeing what’s close to you with a traveler’s eye. 2. Stay In – There are so many possibilities! Learn about a new place right from your couch or that armchair at the library. Watch a travel show. Read a travel guide. Absorb this new place. Then have a party. Make the food you might find there. (It may even require getting out and heading to a grocery store you’ve never been to!) Invite friends and make it an adventure. 3. Relive Travels – Maybe you did travel once upon a time before family and job and life took over. Look at your pictures. Really sit down and remember your experience. Watch your videos and allow yourself to remember what a beautiful, crazy, fun, adventurous, or even disastrous trip it was! 4. Play Someday – If you could go on a trip, where would you go? What would you do there? Where would you stay? What food would you want to try and what places would you visit? This can be a dream trip or a practical plan. Share it with someone who knows you. Dream together! If you have a vision for the trip it is more likely you will make it happen! Side Tip – If it’s about the kids… Kids are great to travel with. Seriously. No, it won’t be perfect, but it will help instill a little wanderlust in your babes. Check out how this family traveled the world! If you really can’t go far, stay close-ish. Kids can find adventure in anything, and you’ll see things through their eyes. Plus, cars are great for naps! Know the world. Hang a map. Have a globe handy. Plant seeds in your kids that the world goes far beyond their four walls. Not all travel can look like a magazine. Find what works for you today and let your heart wander! Lux Thinking Aloud Life So Far This 2016 8:00 AM It's my birthday week y'all! Time flies. It seems only yesterday when I was reflecting on my past birthday. And here we are again. Will I write another reflection? Another lesson learned? Will I post about my plans? Will I share my wishes? Don't think so. I'll just post about my life so far this 2016. This year has been kind of slow...and fast at the same time. I know that sounds crazy, but that's how my life is. Crazy. (Click individual photos to view in full size) Life So Far This 2016 Beef's back in the menu! I started eating beef again. I've shared here before that my sister and I are planning to open a cafe restaurant and burger, nachos and other dish with beef is in the menu. So we started trying out burgers and other food in cafes and restaurants near our area to see what we can do to top them. After years of not eating beef (by choice), 2016 is the year I've reconciled with this juicy meat. I don't enjoy it as much as other people do, but that's something notable I did this year. Cutting ties I started unfriending people on my FB list. You remember back in the days when FB started, we accept invites from people we barely know and see, just as long as they're familiar faces and names? I did that. And now when I see my feed and I'm like, "Who are these people?" I don't hesitate clicking that Unfriend button. Because I'm sharing my life with people who don't really care or who may care but only so for them to have something to talk about. It came to a point when it became clear to me that when it comes to friendship, quality over quantity is better. I stopped or at least avoided speaking to people who LOVE to talk down on me. Like, wow, do I really have the time and energy for this crap? Not anymore. And I don't have to endure your emotional punches just because we're related by blood. Who's with me? Expanded dating market This single is ready to mingle. I've realized though that with the nature of my job, I don't get enough time and "exposure". So this year...I joined a dating site. Yep, I finally did it. Maybe it's not a major thing for some, but if you know me, this is so out of character. I have to talk to myself several times into doing it. And hey, it's not as bad as I thought it will be. More time with family Removing unnecessary people from your life gives you more room and time for the people who matter most. So this year, moving back to my hometown gave me more time to bond with my family, and our dogs. Whether it's just us chilling playing Uno or going for some island hopping, I enjoy every moment with the fam. More travels Traveling is so addicting. Once you start, there's no stopping. But this is one thing I'd be happy to be addicted to. Life so far this 2016 has been about a lot of traveling. As for my 2016 goals, I wrote I will visit 5 new places. I didn't. I exceeded that number! These photos don't do justice to the beauty of the Philippine beaches. You should come visit someday. :) With my birthday coming, I have to remind myself not to fret. Not all my goals have been achieved but at least most of them have. And some things take time. Right? I've got to be firm with my goals but flexible with the process. Maybe I need to adjust my target date for it. Maybe I need to change strategy to achieve it. You too. Wherever you are, I wish you'll always be grateful for what you have with what's happening in your life so far this 2016. Hey, did you find this post helpful or entertaining?
