Dating The 5 Love Languages: How To Save Your Relationship 8:00 AM Relationship conflicts usually happen not because you lack love but because you don’t know how to show it in a way the other person understands. Sometimes your significant other doesn’t receive it as you intended because we speak different love languages. What are the five love languages, and how can they help nourish and save your relationships? What is a love language? Our love language is our way of expressing, receiving, and understanding love. Gary Chapman, a marriage and family life expert, is the author of The Five Love Languages: How to Express Heartfelt Commitment to Your Mate. He discovered the five primary languages of love. Although we do relate to these love languages, there is at least one which we prefer the most or which speaks to us the loudest. Learning which love language your partner, friend, or family speaks and letting them know which one is yours can help strengthen your relationship and save you from misunderstandings and issues in the long run. The 5 Love Languages Words of affirmationQuality timeReceiving giftsActs of servicePhysical touch 1. Sometimes, even a trivial comment can impact the other person for ample time. Examples of words of affirmation love language: “You are important to me.” “I love you.”“You look great in that dress.”“That hairstyle looks good on you.”“I’m lucky to have you.”“I love it when you ___.”“I’m grateful for you.”“You bring me joy by simply being in my life.”“Thank you for___.”“I appreciate your ___.”“That is impressive!”“You are inspiring.”“I’m proud of you and to have you.”“You are amazing!”“Love your outfit.” Words of affirmation should not be empty adulation but highlight the best in your partner. Single Life Dear Future Husband 8:00 PM We will make a beautiful harmony together through the different notes that we play. The Single Woman’s 30-Day Blogging Challenge Day 30: Write a letter to your future mate saying whatever you want to say Dear Future Husband, It is a long, dragging journey but I learned to enjoy every step of the way; thinking that every day is one step closer to the day we will meet. God is preparing me to be the best that I can be because He's prepared His best for me too: a royalty for His little princess. I know you're not going to be perfect just as imperfect as I am. But, we are perfectly imperfect for each other, and that's what makes it beautiful. We will make a beautiful harmony together through the different notes that we play. I will not promise to give you everything you want, but I will serve you with everything that I have. I am doing really well now, I feel like I could stay like this forever. But, the day you would come is a big big bonus from up above. I complete me, but you would complement me. Thanks for adding accent to my already colorful life. You are the blueberry to my cheesecake. The sprinkles to my ice cream. It's not an easy journey. People criticize me for my choices, question and laugh at my standards. I trip, I fall, I got lost somehow, thinking I've already found you. But, it was nothing but another fraud---a toad pretending to be you. I am glad God meddled in before I sunk deep into that mess. I am learning everything I could, I am enjoying every moment, so that when you finally come I will have lots of stories and lessons to share with you. I am whole and you won't have to fix me. Because in the first place, that's not your job. Your job is to love me. When I've reached the end of the line of my single-hood, I know you'll be there waiting for me. Everything falls in their proper place at His right time, just as He designed the seasons to change at the right moment. We just need to be more patient because He is never late nor early. His timing is always perfect. Dear future husband, I know you're out there. Also wondering, also waiting for that day to come. I can only be excited for that day. As for now, learn all you can. Explore the world. Don't be afraid to take risks. Make mistakes. Enjoy each day. Know that every day you face, each step you take is also a step closer to me. I'll see you when I see you. Lux Thinking Aloud I'm Too Old For This Shit 7:30 PM "I'm too old for this shit." Excuse the expletive. But that's the famous line of Danny Glover's character in Lethal Weapon. And I bet most of us "adults" have found ourselves saying these words in our mind or out loud, in this exact form or another (because some of us never use this language for sure). But what are the things that make you feel like you've had enough. What could make you go say, "Nope. Nu-uh. Not anymore, darling. I'm too old for that." I'm Too Old For This Shit I'm too old for crappy books, TV programs, and movies TV shows and movies should entertain. Books, aside from educating, should do the same. If they're not serving their purpose, they're wasting my time. If the author is not talking to me, I move on to another. There are too many good books to read to waste time on the crappy ones. Giphy I'm too old for small, nonsense talks I was never a fan of small talks. Maybe that's because I'm an introvert and we avoid it. I can tolerate it for sure for courtesy's sake. But as I got older, I prefer to cut it and go straight to the important stuff. Giphy I'm too old for fake friends We've met them in high school. Even at the workplace. They're everywhere! I used to give them the chance to change, or understand them as much as I can. But that means allowing them to suck out my energy, my joy, and my time. Fakes friends are a waste of time. I'm over that. I've said my goodbye. Giphy I'm too old for the comment section on social media If you want a stress-free browsing on the internet: Stay. Away. From. The. Comment. Section. Instagram and Facebook now allows you to filter out words in the comment too. Utilize this if you don't want to be attacked by trolls. And if you ever find yourself getting attacked, just remember this wise saying: Don't feed the trolls. Don't give them the attention they are longing for. Giphy I'm too old for blind disciples of shitty leaders Sometimes I wonder why some people blindly follows and supports someone who is obviously a---for the lack of a better word---jerk. I see some friends on Facebook share fake news and declare their 101% support to such leaders. Laughing at who these leaders make fun of. Being happy at the misfortune of the opponents. Really? Here's me clicking the "unfollow" button. Giphy I'm too old for lending money to lazy people If they're too lazy to find a way to increase their income, I'm not going to support them on it. When I was young and naive, I believe such stories like they needed the money for a checkup or an emergency. But come payday, they're out in a bar abusing their health anyway. I work my butt off every single day to earn and save for the rainy days. If I can do it, what's stopping them? Giphy I'm too old for waiting for other people to act I'm done waiting. Waiting for people to move, to act, to apologize, to live their lives. I can't postpone the fun or delay my dreams waiting around for people to finally realize how to live. I'm too old for that shit. Giphy I'm too old for society's "standards" Yes, I'm in my thirties. Yes, I'm not married yet but I'm definitely happy. Yes, I have friends who are members of LGBT and I love them. Yes, I'm a registered pharmacist but I don't practice my profession. Yes, I'm an introvert and you might mistake that for me being a snob or an anti-social, but that's your opinion and I don't plan on changing that. Yes, I am vegan because I don't want to be part of merciless and pointless killings of animals which ultimately hurt the planet. My body is not a graveyard for dead animals. No I'm not sorry if you don't understand. Giphy I'm too old for Negatrons Negatron is a slang for people who always have something negative to say. They are the naysayers, the cynic, the gifted pessimists. Critics will see you walk on water and say it's because you can't swim. If you think that way, I don't have time for you. I detox my body from toxins. Why should I entertain toxic people in my life? That's just crazy. I will not let anyone walk through my mind with their dirty feet. -Gandhi Giphy I'm too old for low-paying sponsors/clients Most of these low paying clients are those who have more demands than those who pay the right fee. These sponsors have the gall to tell you that you need to leave a good review on their site for their products as part of the conditions for payment. That for me is deception. I give honest reviews only. So thanks but no thanks. I may not be a blogger extraordinaire (although I've been recognized by the blogging community and have received good feedback from my previous writing clients, so 🤷) but I guarantee a good quality content and a highly engaged audience. Studies show that micro-influencers are much preferred now by sponsors because they have a more engaged community. Giphy Here's a beautiful summary of what growing up and getting too old for shit is like: I decided not to coexist anymore with pretense, hypocrisy, dishonesty and cheap praise. I do not tolerate selective erudition nor academic arrogance. I do not adjust either to popular gossiping. I hate conflict and comparisons. I believe in a world of opposites and that’s why I avoid people with rigid and inflexible personalities. In friendship I dislike the lack of loyalty and betrayal. I do not get along with those who do not know how to give a compliment or a word of encouragement. Exaggerations bore me and I have difficulty accepting those who do not like animals. And on top of everything I have no patience for anyone who does not deserve my patience. -José Micard Teixeira How about you? What has makes you say "I'm Too Old For This Shit!"?
Travels The Beauty Of Sipalay 7:53 PM The Philippines is full of beautiful islands and sights that can mesmerize anyone. When you visit here, don't miss to see the beauty of Sipalay. Let me give you a short tour. The Beauty Of Sipalay Sipalay, The Jewel of the Sugar Island, is about 4 to 5 hours by bus and 3-hour drive by car from Bacolod City (capital city of Negros Province). Being far away from Bacolod, Sipalay has uncrowded beaches and resorts that's perfect for those who want to have a private getaway. Me and the cousins went there for a vacation over a weekend and we had an awesome time. Sure there were miscommunication with the guide, the weather did not cooperate (it's always stormy in the Philippines) so we were unable to go island hopping. But there are just too many great places to see in Sipalay even without going island hopping or diving---another famous activity when in Sipalay. We went to the 3 most popular destinations and we did so renting a tricycle. It's cheaper and faster. (Click individual image to view in full size) Nataasan Beach Resort Nataasan is by far the most expensive resort we went to in Sipalay, but it's also our favorite. We love the privacy it offers (we felt like we own the resort because we were the only ones using the pool), the beauty of the place, the food they serve (expensive but worth it), and the quiet beach, Nataasan Beach Resort is in Punta Ballo, Brgy. IV, Sipalay City, Negros Occidental with 17 rooms to choose from. Again, the rates are expensive. But then privacy doesn't come cheap. Perth Paradise Perth Paradise has a spectacular view of islets surrounding it but the pool is really just small. It looks good on pictures but if you expect a vast infinity pool, you'll be disappointed. Nevertheless, you will enjoy this picturesque resort. Perth Paradise is in Brgy. 4, Sitio Sambulawan. Tinagong Dagat Another picture perfect resort is Tinagong Dagat. If you want a cheaper accommodation, a fantastic view, but don't really plan on swimming, Tinagong Dagat should be your choice. Tinagong Dagat is in 4 Sitio Latasan, Sipalay. Just rent a trike to go around places. I recommend our tour guide Javal. You may contact him at 639108654309. He's terrific as he's really knowledgeable with the place (where to eat, where to visit, what the place is about) and he gives a good price (not updated of how much the current rates are though so you better check with him). Unfortunately, it was raining really hard when we did our tour. The sun only came up later when we were about to check out. We weren't able to visit Sugar Beach due to miscommunication with our other tour guide. But that's alright. We can always visit it next time. All in all, I'd recommend Sipalay to anyone who wants to travel Negros. Especially on top of the list is Nataasan Beach Resort. We spent more than we expected, yes. But it's surely worth the price. Travel south and see the beauty of Sipalay. Hey, did you find this post helpful or entertaining? Please go ahead and share. Share buttons on the left and at the bottom of the article. Big thanks! For Moms Are Your Hands Full? How To Keep Your Child Occupied If You're Busy 8:00 AM Are Your Hands Full? So, you have dishes to wash or clothes to hang and a little darling who needed some love. Your hands are full, but your child wants to play with you! How to keep your kid occupied if you can’t entertain the kiddo now? Here we’ve listed activities safe and appropriate for his mood. How To Keep Your Child Occupied If You're Busy Using Their Imagination Here we get to explore how kids use their creativity and all. Leave them a few things and let them decide how to deal with it. The plus side is that, not only will you get to do more chores, but your child’s brain development, skills, and talents will be honed too. 1. Coloring and drawing activities You can either give your child a coloring book or a piece of paper with instructions on it on how to draw a certain figure. Let them paint or sketch what they see, and at the end of the day, you can give them a treat if they have accomplished the activity. 2. Let them make a story Give them a pen and a paper and ask them to make a story! Tell your child to show it to you once the both of you are done with your work. Let your child read it to you during bedtime when you tuck your little darling before nighty-night time. 3. Arts and crafts Give them beads, cardboard boxes, coloring materials and you’re done. Ask them to make fruit, plane or any objects. Here are some ideas: Glue art. First, make a line drawing about anything. Afterward, ask your child to line your markings with glue and wait for it to dry. When it’s dry, ask your child to paint it. BONUS: Give your child some sand or glitter dust and spread it to the wet glue. Make jewelry. If you have nylon strings and a couple of beads, ask your kid to make bracelets or necklaces. At the end of the day, both of you can wear it. If your child has to deal with scissors, tell him or her to let an adult do the cutting. You can search the internet for some ideas on this one. But here’s the thing, if you have a child, you better prepare some coloring materials and activity kits for him or her to be occupied with! Mental Activities Let your kids play and learn at the same time! You can give them puzzles, board games, or an activity book all about reading and more. Their alertness and familiarization will improve their decision skills, memory, and knowledge. 1. Activity book An activity book about reading, mathematical guides, or anything fun, yet educational will sharpen their minds. They will be highly engrossed with it and toy around for hours. If you have a “Where’s Waldo” book, congratulations to you! 2. Board game Snakes and Ladders, Chess, Scrabble, Jenga, or even those Generals will entertain your child! Make sure your child has a playmate like Dad, Grandpa, Grandma, cousin, or an older sibling. 3. Jigsaw Puzzle Scramble some puzzle pieces on the floor and let your kid assemble the pieces. You can try lengthening the game by giving a clue to the next jigsaw puzzle he will do. Educational materials for children should not at all be boring. You can try making it fun and see how it will have your kid’s attention glued to it. Getting Physical Need your child to move and exercise too? There are plenty of activities for that! From dancing to skipping, racing, and more, hyped up child will have the day run against them! 1. Dance mania. Let you child come up with his or her dance moves and tell them to show it to you when it’s done. Ask your child to teach you the moves as well! Not only your kid will be happy and occupied, but you’re relationship and bond will be great too! 2. Exercise ala treasure hunt. Make skipping and hopping fun for your child especially when it’s more like a treasure hunt game. Place the activity inside the house where the room is safe. For example, put a clue inside the bedroom, and ask your child to hop three to five times before receiving the next clue, and so on. They can also pass beyond a red, tied yarn like they’re on a special agent mission. 3. Obstacle course. If you have enough space in your lawn, garden or backyard, design it in a way that it’ll look like a fun obstacle course for children. From hopscotch, jumping sprees, ball throwing, and more, your child will be energized by this activity while you get to finish hanging your laundry! If your kid is still young, you can have your angel sit on a jumper and hear them giggle while bouncing up and down with the attached toys. That way, you can watch your child and do some chores at home. At the same time, children will be able to sleep better at night. More ideas for fun! Out of ideas? We’re not. This is just the beginning. We have three more activities your child might like to do if he or she really wants to be with mom. Bake cookies with your child. If you’re cooking for dinner, why not have your child join you in the kitchen? They can help you with the desserts! Cookies, fruit salad, muffins… you name it. Spoonful of sugar cleaning. Cleaning the house? Tag your little tyke to help you and give him a treat after your child has done a good job. Decorating the home. Have your kid has his or her say too if you want to decorate the house. This will make your child feel wanted and valuable by mommy. It will help the both of you bond and care for your home. Faith Wounded And Scarred 8:00 AM It is our choices, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities. -J.K. Rowling We are all wounded and scarred. Some wounds are deeper, some scars more permanent. I don't know about you but I'm yet to meet someone, especially an adult who has never been bruised or wounded in life...figuratively speaking. Indeed if we look closer, we are walking among broken people; wounded souls, scarred hearts, exhausted from the battle of every day life. Dramatic, isn't it? But, isn't that the truth? Personally, I know people who are victims of abuse---physical, sexual, verbal abuses by family members, "friends", and even strangers. People who have been struggling with addiction, those who are stuck in toxic relationships, those who are fighting depression, those who are struggling in finances. Some of these people are denying themselves of healing. That's why you meet full-grown adults acting like toddlers. If they can't be happy, neither can you. Toxic people are everywhere. If you allow them, they can transform you into one of them. Sad. And scary. Wounded and scarred, it is our choice that determines what we become. Are we going to use these wounds and scars to help others find their way, or are we going to add more to it by hurting others? In doing so, we hurt ourselves back. Wounded and scarred, we either seek healing and be well, or let the pain taunt us for the rest of our lives, becoming miserable and difficult to deal with. Wounded and scarred, we can allow the Healer to turn our mourning into dancing or stay and rot in the valley of death. Wounded and scarred, we either stay down and miss what life has to offer, or get up, dust ourselves off and carry on. We are all wounded and scarred, whether we like it or not. Whether we accept it and face the truth or forever live in lie and agonize. Wounded and scarred, we are still beautiful, because we are not here by mistake or accident. We are loved, we are His joy, we are made for greatness. Hello, fellow wounded and scarred soul. Oh, how beautiful we all are. Hey, did you find this post helpful or entertaining?
