The holidays are here, and while everyone's obsessing over gift lists and party schedules, there's something more important to tend to: your inner world.
10 Items: Checklist for the Soul
What should be on your holiday soul checklist? Here are 10 non-negotiables that have nothing to do with wrapping paper or holiday sales:
1. Release one grudge
That resentment taking up space in your head? Drop it. You don't need to reconcile or announce forgiveness; just stop letting it control your thoughts.
2. Skip the obligation event
Not feeling that reunion or party? You're allowed to say no. Protecting your peace isn't selfish, it's necessary. It's okay to be the villain in someone else's story.
3. Map out January 2026 ONLY
Forget the entire year. Focus on January. Choose a word. Pick three goals and three actions. Keep it simple enough to actually follow through.
4. Audit your energy drains
Who or what consistently leaves you exhausted? Identify it, then set one boundary to protect yourself moving forward.
5. Create something for zero reason
Paint, write, bake, build with your hands. No audience, no Instagram post, no pressure. Just pure creation.
6. Have one honest conversation
With yourself or someone else. Say the thing you've been avoiding. Clear the air before the new year arrives.
7. Identify your non-negotiables
What three things keep you sane? Sleep? Movement? Quiet mornings? Protect them fiercely through the holiday chaos.
8. Let something go
A goal that no longer fits. A habit that's draining you. An identity you've outgrown. Make space for what's next. Leave your baggage and move on.
9. Schedule one day of absolutely nothing
Not a "self-care spa day." Literally nothing. No plans, no productivity guilt, no agenda. Just breathe and exist.
10. Write a note to your future self
What do you want to remember from this season? What lessons are you taking forward? Seal it and open it next December.
Holiday for the Soul
The holidays don't need to be perfect. But they can be intentional. And intentionality makes all the difference between surviving the season and actually living through it.
Take care of your soul first. The gift wrapping can wait.
