It is important to make sure that you are not letting lust get in the way of you seeing clearly as to whether the new person in your life might truly be someone that is special to you. However, you might start to worry about whether you will know – if you will be able to spot the signs.
Thankfully, you are getting the best advice now because the following information gives you a little insight into whether your new romantic partner might just be that special someone you will want to have around for a long time.
How To Know If Your New Someone
Is That Special Someone
Pay Attention To The Gifts Given To You
It is not so much about the money that is spent, but the thought that was put into it. Instead of an obvious gas station rose that was left in its original plastic, did he take it out and put it in a lovely vase for you? Better yet, did he spend the time picking the perfect themed box of luxury roses for you? If so, this might show you that this person is insightful, sensitive, and really cares about making sure that there is going to be a smile on your face.Consider The Pain
Even if you really like this person, does this person hurt your feelings, tends to forget about you, or gives you the impression that they could really care less about what you want to do? That is very painful and no matter how many butterflies you feel floating around in your stomach when you lock eyes, if you are already dealing with a handful of disappointments so early in the relationship, it is not a good sign for your future together. You want someone that fits into your life as though they were made just for you.The Little Things Count
If you are finding that you both set out to make each other happy through the little things, you might have a winner. Trying to consider the feelings of each other, talking through issues, and being able to truly forgive and let go are great signs that the two of you may be meant to be together for a long time – possibly the rest of your life!Time Will Tell
Even after all of that, you might have to resort to the good old fashioned advice of “give it time” because after all, time will tell. You want to make sure that you and your partner have given the relationship enough time so you are out of the newness phase of the relationship. What is it going to be like when the glitter wears off and you are very used to being in the same routine with one another? If there is still love there and a deep connection, then you have a very good chance of sticking it out for a very long time.So make sure that you are taking the time to examine all of the previously mentioned points. And remember, what works for you may not work for others. Therefore, you do not want to make the mistake of listening to others when they tell you that your new partner is not good enough. Only you will know whether or not someone is the best person for your needs in life.

Lovely post dear!
ReplyDeleteAwesome advise! I remember back when I was dating, there was one guy I had awesome chemistry with, but I literally slapped him on the first date. He was that insensitive to the things that were important to me. Such an unhealthy relationship. It was a HUGE relief when it ended, and I couldn't see how miserable I was until it was long over with. Conversely, my wonderful hubby treats me like a queen. Still. After 17 years. And do you know how I knew he would? He served me first when we were making homemade sundaes--on the first date. Now there's a winner, eh?
ReplyDeleteYes, the little things count - I would agree with that and yes too, only time will tell.
ReplyDeleteJenna is so wise!
ReplyDeleteFinding that special someone could be challenging for some but it is worth the wait.
When you do, everything seems to burn brightly, alive and basking in joy.
Hugs you two ;)
The little things count... so true!

Time will tell is excellent advice. With my wife - then girlfriend - I realized one day that we were already building a life together, and I really liked that life. That was the only "sign" I needed.
ReplyDeleteHi, Luxie!
ReplyDeleteI think the little things your partner says and does every day are more important than grand gestures in determining if your relationship will last. A hand made gift is more precious than a store bought gift. Cooking dinner for someone is more meaningful than taking them out to a restaurant. A handwritten card or letter is better than an e-card. A brief phone call letting him or her know that you are thinking about them and asking how their day is going is more personal than an email or text. If the special person in your life gives you their time, full attention and affection, if they make what is important to you important to them, then you are a good match and might go all the way together.
Enjoy the rest of your week, dear friend Lux!
it's certainly scary when you're starting out with someone new ... but hopefully there will be lots of fun and happy times in the process! :)
ReplyDeleteThe first present I got from my husband when we were courting was book - now that's a sure way to my heart! ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat tips, thoughtful little gifts for sure!
ReplyDeleteYes, the little things count and time to get to know each other well.
ReplyDeleteSuch great tips you've shared here, girl! I think the one that's the most telling is time. Time certainly does tell everything and can reveal for sure if something or someone is meant to be for you. Thanks for sharing and I hope you're having a great week so far!

We too often excuse and defend the pain - great point. And it comes down to self respect. I don't believe in a formula for predicting anything (people are far too unpredictable), but when respect and trust are shattered, it's time to consider a very swift exit.
ReplyDeleteI agree that being able to forgive is so important and I try not to fall asleep on an argument too!
