No Resolution New Year

I'm not going to ask this new year to be good or kind to me.
I want it to hit me with its best shot.

No Resolution New Year

Happy New Year!!!

Am I the only one around here who's glad the last year is finally over?
Not an easy year, I tell you. But hey, I've survived. So did you. Congrats to us!

Most people start the new year with a new set of to-do's, goals, the undying new year's resolution even.

I've stopped making resolutions since I've realized I keep on disappointing myself anyway.

I still make simple and short-term goals though.
I still hold on to my dreams---and work hard for it.
I still plan for what I want to happen and achieve for the year ahead.
I just make sure I focus on what I really want to happen next.

Focus really is the key. Plus deliberate action.

Tough as last year was for me, I'm still thankful I made it through, and I made it through better.

I'm not going to ask this new year to be good or kind to me. I want it to hit me with its best shot.

I'm scared as usual but ready just the same.

Cheers to another 12 months of scary and beautiful uncertainties, life surprises, and endless possibilities.

With my imperfect faith, I'm all geared up for what this year will throw at me.

I hope you are too.

Ready for a no resolution New Year?

Wait! I've got more stories for you...

  2. I don't do resolutions either. One is just setting themselves up for failure and disappointment. I too have short term goals that are easy to achieve. Those are the best kind. Realistic and doable.

Have a happy, healthy and prosperous new year. ☺

  5. "With my imperfect faith, I'm all geared up for what 2016 will throw at me." Amen, sister! I'm with you. Resolutions are depressing. I started the one word theme last year and really like it. It's much more realistic for me. Wishing you many leaps of faith in the upcoming year, Lux :).

  6. You're inspiring me, Lux ... no resolutions or goals around here just yet. But there is some intriguing stuff floating around my head and heart. And I guess I'll just have to wait and see how it all unfolds.

    Happy new year, friend!

  7. Hi, Lux!

Happy New Year to you, dear friend! You have a mature approach to the start of 2016. I can't think of a single year in my life that could be called "easy." Yet, they were all great years because I survived them. There is no use in asking the universe to hand you an easy year. Set goals, be prepared, work hard, keep educating yourself, refine your skills and techniques, set aside fear, count your many blessings and make your own good fortune.

Once again, happy new year to you!

  8. When God us for us, who can be against us? 2016 is just a number...a year...but God's mercies are new every morning, regardless of time... So I pray that each day will be the dawning of a new adventure for you this year, Lux!

  9. Thanks for your wise thoughts. A few years ago I developed what I call my resolution "Template;" Try to become a better person in Spirit, mind and body. I figure that is a lifetime of activity.

The best to you in this opening of new opportunities.

  10. Awesome post Dear... Even I never believe in making Resolutions rather I wish to fly through those 12 unseen uncertain months by holding onto my dreams, my wishes and aspirations...and they give me strength and courage to face the "new day" of my life everyday....

Wishing you more happiness, good health and smiles and success this year. Happy New Year.
    Kisses

  18. Happy New Year Lux! I was one of the few to whom 2015 was pretty good but I'm sure hoping 2016 will be better for most everyone else. I'm doing the 365 Grateful challenge starting yesterday. Something I think I can be more successful with than New Year's resolutions -- but like you I do set little goals! Good luck!

  19. I'm with you on the happy farewell to 2015! What a challenging year! And no resolutions over here...only grace as I stay focused on the things I prayerfully desire. Yes and amen to focus!

  20. I don't make resolutions either, Lux. Too much pressure! LOL But I do think through what the year may hold and ask for God's direction and blessings. And He usually gives me a One Word to frame my year too. Happy New Year and may God bless you richly in 2016!

  23. Lux, I loved this post. May we hold onto our Lord ever so tightly in 2016. Our faith may be imperfect but it is founded in our perfect God who loves us deeply. Looking forward to all God has for us in 2016! Blessings!

  25. Happy 2016, Lux! Resolutions dont work for me too. I list down goals and just do whatever I can to fulfill them :) Here's to a better year for us! :)

    ReplyDelete
  26. I hope 2016 treats you kindly...and generously, Lux. Let's hope it's kind to us all. :)

I never make resolutions...I resolved not to do so many, many years ago!

  27. I don't make resolutions and because of that I don't feel like a failure if I cannot keep them.

  28. Dear sweet Lux, I quit making resolutions a long time ago, but at least we can strive for that closer walk with Jesus. The coming year may bring us many surprises, some good and some bad, but with Jesus we know that He is there through what ever comes our way. Thank you for sharing with us here at Tell me a Story.

  29. Happy New Year Super Lux!

It was indeed a tough year for me, but I've surpassed it...with flying colors! Thanks to all the inspiration that you have been putting in all your writings.

I also did not make any new resolutions. I revisited the goals I have written in the past and checked the ones that are still relevant. Those are what I am going to focus on this year and act on deliberately.

    Cheers to a blessed 2016!

  30. I agree wholeheartedly! Life is just going to be life... good and bad seem to come indiscriminately, lol! Praying that the blessings of the Lord are rich in your life, and His mercies new every morning! :)

  32. Happy New Year! I hope things will go well for you in 2016 and that there will be some memorable moments for you I don't make resolutions either, but that is because as you said, I have my own personal goals which I am already working towards. I am going to focus on those ones for the time being :D

    ReplyDelete
  33. I do not write resolution too but I do have short and long term goals. :) Good luck on your future endeavors!

  34. I can't remember the last time I had new years resolution. I never did and never will. 2015 is the best year so far. It was an awesome year. Looking forward to more amazing 2016! Happy new year!

  35. What a great attitude to begin the new year!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I do not write resolutions too! Hahaha. Yep. I am also one of those who were happy that 2015 is finally over. 2015 is a tough year. Hope 2016 will give us blessings and more happiness! Cheers!

  37. I absolutely love your approach to the new year, Lux. I rarely set lots of goals for myself- because it just never seems to be a success! Focus is key- and I really do need to work on that. Intentional living is really easy for me, but I live in the moment and that doesn't help with focusing on a path toward any big goals.

I need to work on that. :)

  38. "I'm not going to ask 2016 to be good or kind to me. I want it to hit me with its best shot." Same! It's always good to be up for a challenge. Plus, it makes us stronger. Hehe. Happy 2016 and I wish you a memorable and bulletproof one! ;)
