Ramblings Of A Neophyte Michael Jackson Fan

Ramblings Of A Neophyte Michael Jackson Fan
I think the reason why God entrusted such a huge amount of talent to Michael Jackson
is because He knew only a heart as humble as Michael's could handle it.

Ramblings Of A Neophyte Michael Jackson Fan

They say an artist will only be truly appreciated when he's gone. I guess it's true for Michael Jackson and this neophyte Michael Jackson fan.

Much to my regret, I only got to appreciate him as an artist a few weeks ago. In my defense, I was busy playing with my Barbies when Michael Jackson was at the prime of his career. I would also hear more negative things about him then that his talent was overshadowed so to speak.

So I ignored this man who could walk backwards and moved like no other.

Then one fateful day I decided to watch Superbowl videos on YouTube and it was his video I clicked first. I didn't know what was coming. I didn't know I'd be hooked and be in awe for the next few hours.

I watched every interviews, every live performances and every music videos I could find. I was entranced. I was suddenly under Michael Jackson's spell.

More than his exceptional talent though, I was drawn by this star, this legend, this record-breaking artist's mystery...and the sadness in his eyes.

When you read between the lines, when you look at him, you'd know deep down that despite his stardom, the phenomenon, the inexplicable adoration of his fans and obsession of the paparazzi, he was a lonely vulnerable man. A deprived kid trapped in a man's body. A lost soul.

I believe that he was a kind, gentle, generous, pure and humble person.

All he wanted was help others, experience how it is to be a normal child, live normally and be loved and appreciated. All he wanted was give what he could and what he had to those who need it more.

In return, he received bashing, criticism, condemnation.

I think his haters knew they couldn't bring him down attacking him as an artist because he was perfection. No one could ever move and sing like Michael Jackson. No one else has that same passion and magic. No one could give it all like Michael Jackson could.

Or maybe that's just the amateur fan girl me talking. But, whatever.

For me, Michael Jackson was and will remain the ultimate undisputed best artist in all history. No one comes close.

They couldn't say anything wrong about his talent so they attack him in other aspects instead. Those trolls.

Heartless, cruel, selfish, greedy creatures.

Why can't they just applaud with the rest of the world? Why can't they write about this superstar who instead of strutting the streets with arrogance, wasting money on booze and prostitutes, was out there helping children in need, trying with all he had and with all he could to make others happy and change the world?

Why do they have to point at his flaws? Fabricate stories and call him names?

They made Michael Jackson who he was because of what they say---a freak.

He said in an interview that people does not know the effect of the words they say. He was hurt and devastated.

Do people care? Maybe some did. But majority loved to turn his life into a fiasco. Using his weakness, his vulnerability to try to put him down.

He's just human. He maybe the brightest star to ever shine, but he's got feelings too. He got hurt. Deeply apparently.

There are many things he missed just to give the world the kind of entertainer that they wanted. How ungrateful of the world to treat him like a joke instead.

The world destroyed Michael Jackson.

What could a single man do against the whole world ganging up on him? In retrospect, where were his friends then? Where were those who hero-worshiped him when he was crying himself to sleep?

We should have paid more attention to the message of his songs. Most of them are a cry for help, a cry of a lonely hurt heart desperate to make the world a better place.

He wasn't eccentric. He wasn't weird. He wasn't a wacko. We don't know half the truth of what the man went through.

I believe he's innocent.

No monster could write songs about healing the world, protecting the children and being there for someone and sing it with all his soul.

No monster could have done what he did for the children in need.

No sick, selfish person could have donated his time and money to charities.

The only thing Michael Jackson was guilty of was that he cared too much.

He cared too much about the world, about the children's future, about other people. He cared too much about what people say about him to the point that he let it destroy him.

He was vulnerable and naive because there was no evil thought or ill emotions in his heart.

Someone so loving and genuine like him couldn't do what they said he did. And for the police to invade his privacy like that? It was inhuman.

I hope they're happy now.

Whatever happened to Michael Jackson was a thing of the past. But you can never erase someone as great as Michael Jackson in the history of mankind.

For all it's worth I think he's happy now. At peace. Surrounded by great Love and appreciation.

I think he's dancing for God and singing with the angels.

I want to always remember him alive, invincible, awe-inspiring, historical.

He will remain the brightest and biggest start this world will ever see.

Michael Jackson, gone to soon, forever the king of pop.

  3. Hi Lux, Goodness sakes ... What a wonderful post. You've done an excellent job of putting it all in perspective. You are blessed with a special ability to do this. Being a little older I do recall Elvis get some of the same treatment ... not as much as MJ tho. It just seems to me that in this new phenomenon we call the World Wide Web the opportunity for everyone to participate will bring out the good and the not so good. What a blessing it is for someone like you who can highlight the goodness and put the emphasis on love. Thank you for another excellent post, and, as always, your kind comment yesterday on my blog.

  5. He certainly made some great songs, I think he was a very troubled soul who suffered a lot as a child and it had a huge impact on what happened later

  6. He was a great talent and one of the best ever. I was in high school when Michael truly became when "Thriller" came out. He was able to cross all hues and genders with his music.

  11. I grew up with Michael Jackson music all around because of my parents being fans so I did get to appreciate his music when he was still alive, but I know a lot of people really do get appreciated after death, which is pretty sad if you think about it :(

  12. Despite the fame he had from such an early age Micheal Jackson's life was a harsh one. He told of a dictatorial father who brutally physically abused him. He loved his family as is shown by the fact that he often supported them when they were having financial problems. He is still supporting some of them even in death. His need for love was so great that it appears that he purchased his three children in one form or another. He was a gifted talent. It is sad that his life ended the way it did.

  13. I have always loved his music and performances and him. I think definitely think he was being "brought down" for some reason. I personally didn't believe all the negative things I read. Loved your article.

  14. What a touching post/tribute to a great man/artist. I know I chose not to judge him while he lived. I don't know that the accusations are anything more than an attempt to hurt him. Nonetheless, you're absolutely right, Lux, he was a truly great artist and deserves much commemoration! :)

  17. I have always loved Michael Jackson, I grew up with him! He was two years younger than I, and when I was in my teens I had most of his records. It was the Jackson 5 back then. He was always a great singer and entertainer.

  18. One lesson/reminder from reading this post: my words have effects on people. I must be mindful of what I say and how it'll impact the person it's being said to/about....Thanks for this.

  21. I think the problem these days is that the world wants to know every little detail about people in the public eye and then when they hit their peak the media wants to destroy them. There's no mystery surrounding famous people any more, it's not like the stars of yesteryear, we wouldn't know anything of their private lives as that's what they were, private. Obviously, times have changed since then with the invention of the internet and the arrival of social media, we want access to whatever information we require 24/7 and to know all there is to know about famous people. No wonder these stars end up with problems after feeling the need to keep up with everyone's expectations of them. I don't know what's true and what isn't about Michael Jackson but I saw him in concert back in 1988 on his 30th birthday, he put on a fabulous show, something I'll always remember.

  22. Hi, dear Lux! Yes, it has now been six years since we lost Michael, another candle in the wind that was extinguished far too soon, one that we still miss so very much. I choose to believe the things you do about Michael Jackson. I think he remained childlike all his life, could relate to children and wanted to help them. He was an enormous talent but didn't have the over inflated ego that often goes along with it. Michael Jackson was one of a kind, inimitable and irreplaceable. Thank you for remembering him on the anniversary of his death.

  24. Lux, you're so sweet to come to his defense. I was born in the 60s and grew up in the 70s and part of the 80s. He had a sad life really. I think its sad that he was used and abused by everyone, including his family. I often wonder if he was able to receive Jesus as his Lord and Savior before he passed.

    Good post!

  25. Hello,

I wonder whether any one else could have written a such a wonderful eulogy of MJ. No doubt he was a genius. My children adored him so much that when my eldest son married my three children did MJ's dance in the wedding hall.

    Best wishes

  49. He was such an amazingly talented man! I loved him even in his childhood days belting out Motown tunes like ABC... My heart breaks for what he went through and had to deal with in life. As a recovering addict, I can so relate to some of his heartache. Thanks for this loving tribute.

  50. I love this post because I was a Michael Jackson since about the age of four or five. My mom used to put on his Thriller cassette tape and I would dance to it. I believe he was innocent too and that he was only guilty of caring too much. He was such a sweet, talented man. Gone too soon!
