Guest Blogger Fall Into Fitness: 4 Great Ways To Stay Motivated 8:00 AM Fall Into Fitness: 4 Great Ways To Stay Motivatedr Staying on track is hard enough year-round, but fall provides an easy means to backslide on all your hard work and progress. The chill, cozy weather is tempting you to stay in bed. And with the holiday season lurking, you tend to let loose. Never fear. You can have your pumpkin pie and eat it too! Here are 4 great ways to stay motivated and to help you shift your mindset into fitness this fall. 1. Take time to enjoy the scenery. Crisp air, autumn leaves falling, the thought of pumpkin carving and apple picking… Fall is an intoxicating time of year! What better way to get a jump start on your exercise than by enjoying the outdoors? Plus, it makes it easier later on when the weather gets MUCH colder to work out outdoors if you have gotten your body adjusted to the cooler temps. Remember that it gets darker earlier. So if you’re running outside after work, for example, make sure you wear some sort of light-reflecting clothing. 2. Make a commitment. Fall is a reigning champion of fun-themed runs, costumed runs, and Turkey Trots. It goes on forever. Making a commitment by registering for a run is a great way to motivate and lock yourself into a fitness plan this fall. Not only will you be already signed up, but you’ll also want to get training beforehand - which means you’ll need to get running. Be sure to train in conditions similar to the actual event, which probably means you’ll need to follow the tip above and run outside. If you still feel like you’re struggling to get moving, here’s a great list of motivational strategies for you to try. 3. Turn your TV binge into a workout opportunity. There’s no debate about it - fall television is king! It’s so easy to get lost binge-watching the newest season of our favorite shows that we leave ourselves no time to get in any form of exercise. But there’s an easy, convenient way to get yourself off the couch. Throw in some squats with your Stranger Things! Seriously, an episode is a great length of time to get in a good core workout. You can even make commercial breaks your time to do quick moves like push-ups or a plank. 4. Take advantage of fitness apps. So much knowledge is already in the palm of our hands. Use your smartphones to start on the road to a healthier you. Not only are fitness apps cheaper in a lot of cases than taking boutique classes or getting personal training, but they are also an awesome resource for keeping track of your progress, staying accountable and becoming more knowledgeable about your own body. Here’s a list of some of the top-rated fitness apps for you to try. Online personal training companies like CALIBER are another great option for fine-tuning your workouts and getting that 1-1 expert advice that can make all the difference. Hopefully, these tips will help you feel motivated this fall, take on the holidays, and emerge a healthy, fab new you! Check out this adult friend finder review. 6 Good Reasons Why Adult Friend Finder is the Top Adult Dating Website 1. Getting started is easyOnline dating is a good solution for busy bees who want to meet people.Create an eye-catching online profile.Adult Friend Finder makes it easy to control the types of people you want to be connected with. You just need to log in and give out a little information about yourself and the rest should be easy. 2. No rushYou can meet people at your own pace. When you're just meeting people online, you can go out whenever you want to or just stay home to chat. You can disconnect and spend time with yourself without anyone bothering you. You're free to take it slow if you're not ready to meet up yet. 3. There's freedomIt's easier to pick the next person you want to be with. And you're free to decide if you want to meet up or move on to your next prospect. It's free to browse through profiles and there's no limit to seeing people with different religious beliefs or locations. 4. Better matchesThe better you create your profile the higher your chances of meeting a good matchProvide small information about yourself, and the site will try and match you with great potential dates. When you randomly meet someone at a social event, you'd take time to get to know them---do they drink, smoke, what are their hobbies and interests, and the like. With dating sites, this information is readily available (as long as they disclose it) when you check their profiles. In Adult Friend Finder, for example, pet lovers will be matched with another fur parent. This means that you're going to meet someone with the same interests easily. There are also dating websites now for vegans or eco-conscious individuals. Check out VeggieConnection.com for vegetarians, vegans, raw-foodists, fruitarians, and macrobiotics seeking romance and friends/activity-pals. 5. Chance to meet new people Gaining a new friend is a cool thing but it's challenging to meet new people when you've just moved into a new place. This is also true for finding a partner. You can't rely on your friend setting you up with their friends all the time.Online dating gives you an opportunity to meet people who aren’t part of your social circle (school, work, or community). 6. Transparency Online adult dating websites usually try to make their platform more transparent. Though catfishing is rampant, you're not allowed to use some dating platforms without a proper user profile. This is to keep away spammers and to help keep the community safe. Conclusion Everyone dreams of finding true love and meeting their better half. Since finding adult friends online or meeting "the one" could be time-consuming and challenging, some people end up settling down with just anyone. You should first try online dating if you're not having luck with face-to-face dates to explore more options. Check out adult dating sites before you give up on your quest to find love. It could be your chance to find your soulmate and have a happy love life.Gifs from Trending GifsThis post contains affiliate links so I'd get a commission if you purchase through my links at no additional cost to you. Home 5 Simple Tips To Keep Your Home Fresh 8:27 AM 5 Simple Tips to Keep Your Home Fresh If your home is clean, you don’t just see it. You smell it. Your home should be your safe haven where you can leave your worries outside the door, relax, breathe, and carpe diem. It should not be reduced to a dwelling place where you eat and sleep. Instead, your home should be your little oasis. But how can you relax at home if you not only see grime and dust but also smell it in the air? Ugh.With your busy schedule, you can’t find the time to clean. My house never smells fresh! Is that your constant complaint? Don’t fret. Here are 5 fresh-smelling home tips you can follow. 1. Dispose of the things you don’t need.Keep the things you NEED and eliminate the items just gathering dust. To make it easy and fast, get 3 boxes. Label them: Throw, Give, and Keep. The lesser stuff you have, the easier it is to clean and organize. A minimalist home makes it easy to move around. When you see clutter, it signals to your brain: There’s chaos! So, you can’t get that fresh, relaxing feeling. Dispose of your unnecessary stuff to keep your house looking neat. This can give you more space for your house to breathe. Follow the Marie Kondo process of disposing of clutter: If it doesn’t spark joy, let it go. Giphy 2. Add greens.Get an indoor plant for your home. Plants are nice and refreshing to look at and help keep the air clean and fresh by producing much-needed oxygen. When choosing a potted plant, consider these things: Size. Will it be too large for your space? Maintenance. Will it thrive indoors? How often do you need to water it? How much time in the sun is required? Aesthetics. Will it go with your interior? Most people opt for bonsai or succulents because they’re smaller. They don’t take up much space, and they’re cute too. Others create their own vertical garden planting their favorite herbs. This is both creative and sustainable. This is a practical way of decorating and keeping your house green and healthy while creating a fresher atmosphere. Adding fresh herbs for cooking makes the food taste better. Gifer 3. CAYGOClean As You Go. This is especially helpful for people with busy schedules who can’t find the time for cleaning. Instead of piling up chores and putting off what is needed tomorrow (which always gets postponed anyway), why not develop a system where you don’t pile up your to-dos? Clean the dishes and kitchenware right after cooking and eating. That way, there’s always a clean plate waiting for you during mealtime.Wipe water spills on the floor. Clean the bathroom after using it.Most importantly, take out the garbage regularly. Garbage left inside for several days or more can make the house smell filthy. It could attract insects and pests, a whole new set of problems. Keep your home smelling fresh by emptying your trash bins regularly. MakeaGIF 4. Add fragrance. How can I make my house smell good all the time? The answer: Scented candles and potpourris can give your home a sweet smell anytime. If you had a long day, whiff some lavender to stay calm. Wild orange, Cedarwood, and Frankincense can give you that warm Autumn-like feeling. Fir or pine scent if you want to be reminded of Christmas, even in August. It’s your home. You create your own kind of world however you like. The bottom line is that it gives you that fresh aroma that transports you into your own realm. A simple life hack: simmer water, add lemon slices and herbs (preferably mint), and inhale the smell of freshness. It will keep your home literally smelling fresh. You’re welcome. Giphy 5. Clean the air.How to keep your home smelling fresh?Remove the unpleasant smell of dust and dirt by cleaning your windows, air vents, fans, or AC unit. Get an air purifier. Pet hair, pollen, dust, smoke odors, and home construction particles could hang in the air and pollute it. Air purifiers cycle the air in the room and remove these contaminants so you can breathe cleaner, fresher air. This is extremely helpful to people who are sensitive to smell and suffer from environmental allergies. Families with newborn babies especially opt for a high-quality air purifier because they are more sensitive and susceptible to air-borne diseases.Keep your home ventilated, and make sure the air circulating is clean. Giphy If your home is clean, you don’t just see it; you smell it. It doesn’t end in a spotless exterior. Even those that are not visible to the eyes, like the air, should also be clean and fresh. How-To 7 Pros Of Working From Home With Tips 10:15 PM If you love what you do, it isn't your job; it is your love affair. -Debasish Mridha If you can work in the comfort of your home...Doing what you love to do...Earning more than what you're currently getting...Having more freedom of time...Why wouldn't you? Working from home is not stress-free. There are still challenges. But deciding to do it was the best career change I've made in my life. Because the advantages of working from home are more significant than the downside. Here are 7 pros of working from home that I've discovered. 7 Pros of Working from Home with Tips 1. No dress code You still need to look decent when you have a video call. You can dress up if you want to, but that's the advantage of working from home. No one will judge you even when you're in your sweats or pajamas all day.Let's face it, not having to wear a bra also feels more freeing. 👀 As long as you deliver your work, your clients won't ask whether you've showered or not. (Though I do shower to wake myself up. Just thought I'd let you know before you presume I work like this 👇) Gfycat When working from home, you can wear anything comfortable without worrying about breaking any rules. Because you make the rules. 💡 WORKING FROM HOME TIP: Invest in a good blazer or a presentable top/shirt that you can wear during an interview or conference call. Giphy 2. Commute or drive to work no more The distance between your workplace and your bed is just a few steps away. Some even have their bed and their home office in the same room. No more hassle of waiting for the bus or cab. No more long lines and fighting your way in the crowd so you won't miss the train. No more danger of getting robbed on your way to and from work. You don't have to worry about arriving or coming home late because you're stuck in traffic. Most importantly, no need to brave the weather just to get to work for fear of being reprimanded by your waterproof boss. Call Center Life 💡 WORKING FROM HOME TIPS: Don't work as much as possible in your bedroom, especially on your bed. This will help you stay productive and avoid the temptation of taking a nap during your working hours. It also conditions your mind that your bedroom is for relaxing and sleeping. So when you step inside the bedroom, your mind knows it is time to take a snooze.Keep your home secured at all times. It may be safer to work from home, but it doesn't mean you have to be lenient regarding security.Don't forget to invest in security, such as antivirus software to protect your computer work from hackers and a sound home security uk alarm system to protect you from thieves. This will give you peace of mind whether you're working at home or taking a break. It's hard to focus on both if your home safety is in question, right? How is your daily commute to work? Share your craziest story in the comments.Disclaimer: I wrote this post pre-p a n d e m i c 2018 and edited 2019. Please don't get offended by this gif. Giphy 3. No office politics or challenging people to deal with Don't we all have that annoying person at work we dread seeing? Have you not put on your headphones and blasted music in your ears to block the noise of nonsense gossip around you? And does it not irritate you when someone who works less gets recognized more just because they're drinking buddies with the boss? Is your boss a toddler trapped in an adult's body, throwing tantrums when things don't go his way? How many times have you faked a smile or tried to look calm even when you feel like throwing a fit yourself? Sarcasmlol When you work from home, you eliminate this kind of toxicity in your life. Giphy ⭐ LIFE TIP: If it costs you your peace, it's too expensive.Unsubscribe from other people's drama. Some people are not worth your time and emotion. 4. Choose your view Whether you want to work in front of your window, in the kitchen, or anywhere in your house, you can. Bring your work outside or in the coffee shop for a change (that aroma of freshly baked bread and coffee is a good stimulus). Giphy Or better yet... 5. Travel with your work You can bring your work wherever you go as long as it's convenient and you know you can still be productive. If there's a good internet connection and electricity, you're good to go. New place, fresh ideas. 💡 WORKING FROM HOME TIP: If you need to bring your work on your trip, set aside a day and time for work. You don't want to ruin a beautiful holiday. I don't advise bringing your work when you travel for leisure. Not only will it add to your luggage, but it also beats the purpose of vacation. Pinterest 6. More time for yourself You can finish your work either at the time agreed with your client or whenever you want, depending on your arrangement. Since you don't have to take the time to commute from home to the office and vice versa, and no colleague is inviting you to unwind after a stressful day at work, you have a lot of extra time in your hands. If you want to keep your day productive after working, you can run errands, clean your working area, organize your files, update your blog if you have one, watch a tutorial or inspiring speech or learn from other people in the same field. Or relax. Sleep. You need it. Catch up on your reading. Take a walk. Meditate. Work out. Serve the community. Get a massage. Find a new hobby. If you like to earn more, you can use your extra time to look for another client or work on some extra gig. You are the king/queen of your time. You do you. Giphy 7. More time with what matters most When you're staying home, you get to see the people or the reasons why you're working. You have the luxury of spending quality time with your loved ones. Go on a date with your partner. Meet a friend. Spend more time with your pets. One of our dogs sleeping ON my foot while I'm working. Had to capture that precious moment in-between editing. Clingy dog #1 Clingy dog #2 UPDATE: Now that I'm married, I spend more time with my husband. He accompanies me when I need to work outside due to inevitable instances like a power outage. That's an unplanned and productive date right there. You can't have it all. Like everything else in life, nothing is perfect. There are still challenges with working from home. 💡 WORKING FROM HOME TIP: Google and YouTube tutorials are your friends. When I first started, no one in my circle doing freelancing. But because I was determined to make the shift, I researched it. I attended seminars. As they say, if you want something wrong enough, you find a way, not an excuse. Join a fantastic group of freelancers. Here's one I highly recommend 👉 The Freelance Movement Workshop. This is where I learned freelancing hacks. I wish I knew when I was starting. Once you've found your rhythm, you keep learning and improving your skills, and you don't forget your BIG WHY. You will find that the pros of this work far outweigh the cons. Question for you: If you're already working online, what are your struggles? What do you think are the pros of working from home? If you're not yet making this incredible career, would you like to know how? This post contains affiliate links, so I'd get a commission if you purchase through my links at no additional cost to you. Life Lessons Lessons Learned On My Way To Getting There 1:25 PM If you do not know where you come from, then you don’t know where you are, and if you don’t know where you are, you don’t know where you’re going. And if you need to know where you’re going, you’re probably going wrong. -Terry Pratchett Sometimes, it’s easy to feel like life is passing you by. One day you wake up and realize that most of your peers are now getting on with their adult lives, getting married, and having babies. And here you are...still drunk in love with your being single. It could be terrifying when negative thoughts start to enter your mind. When people make you question your choices, you begin to also doubt yourself. That is if you don’t have a solid conviction of who you really are, what you want, and where you are going. On my way to getting there, I’ve learned how to make the journey light, and I’m sharing it here with you. 1. Know exactly what you want. Where exactly is your ‘there’? Living without goals is like driving without direction. You keep on going around in circles. You don’t get anywhere simply because you don’t know where you’re heading. If you know exactly what you want, you can change your strategies or change your timetable and still know it’s okay because you haven’t forgotten your destination. You have a clear vision of where you’re going so you don’t go astray. You may have stopovers or detours, but keep your eyes on the prize. What do you really want to do, and where do you want to go? Giphy 2. Be friends with people from all walks of life. Younger friends are fun to be with because their excitement and curiosity are contagious. They keep you young and updated. Friends who are about your age share the same sentiments. You can share notes about your past experiences, struggles, and plans. They are your reality check. Friends who are more mature or are ahead of you in this life journey could be amazing life mentors. They will guide you and help you avoid making the same mistakes they did. Entrepreneurs have different mindsets and lifestyles from people in the workforce. See things from different perspectives by forming friendships with business owners and employees. Every person you meet has a story, and their story comes with lessons for you to learn. Giphy 3. Do something today that your future self will thank you for. They say money speaks only one language. “If you save me today, I will save you tomorrow.”Learn how to manage your finances. The people who laugh at your frugal ways will one day come to you and ask you for help. (True story!) Take care of your health and secure your future. Learn how to be truly rich. Enjoy the present, but don’t forget to save some for tomorrow. You don’t want to be begging for money when you’re too old or maybe too sick to work. Yes, YOLO! But you only live once, so you might as well not live miserably, right? That piece of steak looks good, but is it really worth it when you know you’re putting your life at risk? Not to mention the debilitating effect of the meat industry on the environment and, of course, the suffering of the animals just for you to get your plate of juicy steak. Your future self will thank you for your choices today. Choose selflessly and wisely for your health, the planet you live on, and the future. Giphy 4. Travel more. Visit a new place. Traveling changes your perspective. You realize that you are a tiny speck in the vast universe. Your primary concern, like your change of career, what other people would think, not having a date for Valentine’s, not having enough clothes in your closet, or not getting the latest gadget, will become insignificant. CALVIN: If people sat outside and looked at the stars each night, I’ll bet they’d live much differently. HOBBES: How so? CALVIN: Well, when you look into infinity, you realize that there are more important things than people do all day. Imgur 5. Help someone. Your job title, the trophies, and the rewards you received may be impressive and could give you euphoria. But there is a different kind of high when you give without expecting anything in return. Help someone who is not capable of giving you back. At least not directly. Because kindness begets kindness. The love (or hate) you give will eventually come back to you. Have you ever been a part of a ministry and witnessed God’s work through people helping other people? You will be amazed. Giphy 6. Let go. You can never enjoy the present if you keep looking back at the past. As you age, you realize that some dreams are worth pursuing and others are not your dreams but someone’s plans for you, like your parents. Let go of the people who are holding you back. Let go of your excess baggage to make your journey getting there easier and lighter. What are the things that are weighing you down? Is it guilt? Forgive yourself and ask for forgiveness. Confess. Is it an addiction? Seek help. Is it your inner critic? Learn how to silence it. Is it worrying about what people would say? Why does it matter anyway? Is it the limitation you set yourself? Change your mindset. Is it a toxic lifestyle? Learn how to live healthily and live happily. Is it fear? Do it afraid. Is it your lavish ways? Simplify. Giphy Sometimes you get to your dreams fast, and sometimes you face detours. Sometimes on your way to reaching your goals, you realize life is more than just about pursuing a career and living according to society's dictates. Sometimes you get lost and find a better dream, and sometimes you see...a better you. I’m getting to my next chapter. Just taking it slow, enjoying each step, but getting there. How about you? Where are you going? What lessons have you learned on your way to getting there?
