Easy Shrimp Tempura With Garlic Mayo Dip Recipe

10:44 AM

Here's my easy Shrimp Tempura recipe with garlic mayo dip. To be honest, this is my first time to cook this dish. For a first attempt though, the result was a success. Even my friend's mom approved of it. I'm so proud of myself!

Special thanks to my friend Carl for indulging my whims, offering his kitchen, splitting the bills with me and doing the dirty job (i.e. beheading the shrimps, washing the cookware) and enhancing the photos (that's his hobby and freelance work).

shrimps (advisable: large sized)
cooking oil (for deep frying)

Tempura coating:

black pepper
iodized salt
medium sized egg
bread crumbs

Mayo dip:

chopped garlic

1.  Wash the shrimps, peel and remove the head. Keep the tails.

2. Prepare the tempura coating by mixing salt, flour and pepper in a bowl.

3. Coat the shrimp with the mixture.

4. Beat the eggs. Add pepper and salt to taste. Dip the shrimp into the egg mixture.

5.  Coat the shrimp with bread crumbs.

6.  Deep fry until golden brown.

7.  Strain and transfer to a plate with paper towel to remove excess oil.

8.  Cook chopped garlic in oil until translucent and mix with mayonnaise.

Bon appetit!
